Could Dustin Johnson win the Player of the Year award on the PGA Tour? Johnson has 2 wins, 7 Top 10's, and who could forget his U.S. Open collapse & his PGA heartbreak. With nobody winning more than 2 Tournaments this year on the PGA Tour, Johnson along with Els, Furyk, Mahan, Rose, and Stricker have all reached that total. Of those 6 players, I think Johson has had a more dynamic 2010 only because of his near misses at the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. The class in which he handled the 72nd hole at Whistling Straits alone should give him the edge. Any thoughts?

Love Dustin Johnson...Player of the year, I would totally agree with that. I don't care about the almosts and the what ifs; the guy is fing hot and has some great talent. fing hot?? As a golfer or as a woman's perspective. Does your mom know you talk like that? Both...mostly as a women though, and yes she does. His brother goes to college at CSU (Charleston Southern University) which is about 15 mins from my house. Good looks run in the family. |

Love Dustin Johnson...Player of the year, I would totally agree with that. I don't care about the almosts and the what ifs; the guy is fing hot and has some great talent. The guy is fing drunk and has funny looking sideburns. Drunk, maybe has a DUI. But he pulls off the sideburns with the shape of his head (the one on the shoulders) and jawline. |

Looks like,Dustin Johnson.will get Player of the Year.and if I, had a vote in the matter,Tiger Woods,would get it. Daniel, you can't be serious! Tiger has done nothing this year except get divorced following his "car accident." (That's how The Golf Channel refers to his pecadillo from last year). Sheesh........guy, what are the you, the president of the I love Tiger Woods no matter what a pig he is fan club? Tiger,is still number 1..is D.J..Number 1? NO! |

DJ should hands down get the PotY award with all his adversity he had to overcome and was still able to come back and win the Tournament at the end.

DJ has more wins on tour this year than Tiger and has just as many Top 10's in majors along with finishing better than Tiger at St. Andrews. You can't win anyone over with a half-line statement. You have to use statistical arguement. Something you haven't figured out yet and never will since you're so clueless. |

Something to think about from Golf Channel Website: DJ vs. Lefty: Compelling POY scenario RANDALL MELL, Senior Writer, GolfChannel.com Posted 09/13/2010, 11:01 AM EST The PGA Tour Player of the Year race is still surprisingly wide open heading to the FedEx Cup Playoffs’ finale at the Tour Championship next week. Dustin Johnson, Ernie Els, Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk, Hunter Mahan and Justin Rose are frontrunners given they are the only two-time PGA Tour winners this year. Of all the compelling possibilities still out there, here’s a tough one to ponder: It’s a possible Johnson vs. Phil Mickelson vote. If Johnson wins the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup, he's a lock to win Player of the Year honors. In fact, he could be POY even if he fails to win the Tour Championship but claims the FedEx Cup. He would have two victories this year, plus the FedEx Cup. If Phil Mickelson wins the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup, he's got to be voted POY. With the Masters in his hip pocket, it's got to be more than enough, given nobody else will have won more than two events this year. But what about this? What if Mickelson wins the Tour Championship but Dustin Johnson finishes second and Johnson wins the FedEx Cup? Mickelson will have two titles this year, including a major. Johnson will have two titles and the FedEx Cup. Who do you like in that scenario? in the last scenario, Dj should win POY, But I have a sneaking suspision that Lefty is gonna pull off a big one and capture his first of a couple Fed Ex cups |
