Tiger's swing coach Hank Haney has informed Woods that "he thinks it's time for him to step aside as his coach". Haney said it was his decision. Hank said he informed Woods on Monday night. Haney emphasized that he was not fired and just feels it is time to "move forward in other areas." Thought & comments please.

I think that Tiger fired Hank. He is allowing Hank to save face. But it's possible Haney saw the writing and resigned before he got the axe. I guess it'a s good move. But if he now has to rebuild his swing, it puts him far behind in his quest to beat Jack's 18.

It has been in the works for awhile now. Johnny Miller said it best when he said Hank is more of a technical and rhythem coach and right now Tigers biggest problems is what he's doing through the impact area. And that isn't Hank's strong point. But then again, when a guy has 130mph club head speed, who can really tell what the heck is going on through that transition~~

In an earlier post I mentioned that one of Butch Harmon's brother was seen talking to Tiger during his practice rounds on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before the Tournament Players Championship.

This just makes things that much worse for Tiger. I think Haney quit because he was tired of all the distractions from the past week and especcially the past 7-8 months. It'll be interesting to see who Tiger picks up if anyone and when that will be. Tiger's empire is starting to crumble and this is just making it that much worse.

Whelp...if he goes through another swing overhaul, it's doubtful he will ever catch Jack's record. This was THE year for him to do it, with all his favorite courses...but if he's fiddling with his swing the whole time it's not going to pan out for him. I've said before that I never thought Haney's swing fit him, so this IS a good move in my book, but it's still going to throw a stick in the spokes.

I think both sides (Tiger & Hank) were wanting a split, Tiger allowed Haney to take the high-road and leave, preventing Eldrick from being the "Bad Guy". There is nothing Haney could possibly help him with as long as Tigers' head & body are falling apart. It's a bold move for Hank, who I think loved being called "The swing coach for the Number 1 player on the Planet". But just as we feel somewhat betrayed by Tiger, I could only imagine what people "inside his circle" must feel like. Hank probably said "Enough, is enough!"

he did go out of his way to say it was "his decision" and wanted to go in another direction. it may have been to protect Tiger's image but who knows? too much going on in Tiger's head now, i say he just flies solo until the storm clears a little.

No one does it better than the original Daniel. He is often imitated, but never duplicated.

No offense DG but Spiko...if you're gonna imitate DG you gotta spell a few words wrong and add nonsensical punctuation all over the place
