Could Dustin Johnson win the Player of the Year award on the PGA Tour? Johnson has 2 wins, 7 Top 10's, and who could forget his U.S. Open collapse & his PGA heartbreak. With nobody winning more than 2 Tournaments this year on the PGA Tour, Johnson along with Els, Furyk, Mahan, Rose, and Stricker have all reached that total. Of those 6 players, I think Johson has had a more dynamic 2010 only because of his near misses at the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. The class in which he handled the 72nd hole at Whistling Straits alone should give him the edge. Any thoughts?

If I had a vote in the matter, he would get it.
With what he has done and been through this year he deserves it. Not because of what has happened but for being in the position. I know it's kinda a catch 22 but you have to play well to have those things happen and he has ..... |

As of about 4 weeks ago I was giveing it to Els, but since the Whistleing Straights bunker deal I believe it would have to go to DJ as of now, there still a few weeks left though and alot can happen.

Looks like,Dustin Johnson.will get Player of the Year.and if I, had a vote in the matter,Tiger Woods,would get it.

If either Johnson or Stricker win the FedEx, they should win POY.
If Els, Mahan, or Rose win the Tour Championship and Johnson and Stricker finish outside the Top 5, one of them may likely win POY. If Phil wins the Tour Championship, along with a major, he has a solid chance at it. |

Gotta be Johnson. He had a average finish of about 16th place in majors this year and won 2 of the Tour's biggest events. Plus he's one of those magic five in The Tour Championship. If he wins the FedEx Cup next week then there's not going to be a doubt about this one.

Gotta be Johnson. He had a average finish of about 16th place in majors this year and won 2 of the Tour's biggest events. Plus he's one of those magic five in The Tour Championship. If he wins the FedEx Cup next week then there's not going to be a doubt about this one. Anyone who can hit a ball 370 yards deserves something!! His shot tracker yesterday was incredible on NBC when he hit it over the trees~ |

Love Dustin Johnson...Player of the year, I would totally agree with that. I don't care about the almosts and the what ifs; the guy is fing hot and has some great talent.

I agree with all the names mentioned thus far, and with DJ being a favorite. I think they all have a shot at POY. I'll also add Matt Kuchar as a possibility, especially if he wins the tour championship. He's been solid all year, has a FedEx Cup win, and has the most top 10's on tour.
This is usually a boring topic. Most years Tiger has locked up POY by mid-season. |

With the Masters in his hip pocket, it's got to be more than enough, given nobody else will have won more than two events this year. But what about this? What if Mickelson wins the Tour Championship but Dustin Johnson finishes second and Johnson wins the FedEx Cup? Mickelson will have two titles this year, including a major. Johnson will have two titles and the FedEx Cup. Who do you like in that scenario? |

Tiger has done nothing this year except get divorced following his "car accident." (That's how The Golf Channel refers to his pecadillo from last year). Sheesh........guy, what are the you, the president of the I love Tiger Woods no matter what a pig he is fan club? |
