When entering scores you can classify a score as from your 'Home Course' vs. 'Away.' I looked on the USGA site, but I didn't see how they define a Home Course. I guess it's pretty obvious if you are a member of a Country Club and play most of your golf there, but what if there are two courses at your country club? Is one of them your home course and one is away? What if you aren't a member anywhere but you regularly play a course, is that your home course? Last 'what if', let's say you split time between two or three courses but you are not a member of either, does that mean all of your rounds are considered to be 'away?' Thanks! |

It's kind of arbitrary for me. I'm not a member, but I play a course named Rancocas more often than any other and have for quite a few years. I can't think of any other course that would qualify as "Home". I don't suppose it would matter in the least if you entered all your scores as "Away" if you don't play one course often enough to call it home.

I believe it can be applied three ways....
1) a Private Course you belong to 2) The course you play the most often 3) The course where your handicap resides |

For me my home course is determined by where my handicap is held. I belong to a private club and I live on a different golf course and I play the courses nearly equal. BUT...my home course is determined by where I registered my USGA Handicap.

BUT...my home course is determined by where I registered my USGA Handicap. I use this site to track my handicap and I just joined a league that uses a competitor. I guess that course will 'keep' my handicap on the other software, but my performance statistics will reside here. I guess that means I don't necessarily have a true home course. FWIW, I think the course the league uses will be too expensive for me to play casual rounds on a regular basis, so once again I'm a man without a country. Or at least without a home course. |

Oh and by the way I hope your basketball team loses tonite! Go Hawks! Good luck to you guys. It's the worst case scenario for a 2nd round game after a bye for us. You guys played a great game against NW, but you were never pushed hard or worn out. So now you have a feel for the sight lines, locker rooms, ball, etc. We are coming in cold. I was hoping that it would be a grinder/slugfest/emotional game for you guys, setting you up for a let down on day 2. As it is, I think we need to bring it strong from the tip. If we don't it could be like 2005(?) when you guys knocked us out in our first game after a bye. Enjoy the game. The line is 5.5. If you ask me, lay the points. I think MSU finds their groove and rolls. But I tend to lose more money than I make off of my bookie, so don't trust my advice. |

BUT...my home course is determined by where I registered my USGA Handicap. That makes sense. I could keep a GHIN handicap at Rancocas if I wanted to. Or another course and keep separate home courses on each system. Too much trouble for me. I had both last year from a tournament league. They never matched either, which I found annoying. The league didn't have a home course, so it didn't matter either way. |

I'm not a member at any course or club. The only handicap I have (besides my swing) is the one on this site. So I am of no help whatsoever.

Thanks but I fear we are one year away. I would compliment, but there is no need...they are clutch when tournament time rolls around.
