Just wondering, does anyone really look forward to the HotList? And further to that, does anyone buy gear, in part, based on the reviews?

Honestly, I save the issue for a year and then I go buy the holiday, marked down version of the stuff I liked best. Usually, that $399 Driver or 3 Metal can be had for $129 only 10 months later.

How often do you find that you change gear Jay? Most of what I change are worn wedges. I literally only own one useable driver (I'm such an old cranky SOB when it comes to new technology) |

Out of my price range. I take Jaypets plan a step further. I don't read this years GD hotlist until someone leaves it in the men's club bathroom. I then wait a few years to pick my favs up at Play it Again Sports. I saw one last week about something by Callaway called Big Bertha. Is that a club or Fat Albert's sister?

Since I started playing I have rotated out equipment every 2 to 3 years but I have never used the Hot List to help me make a decision. A lot of my gear has been on the list but I tested them and made my decisions off of my testing.

I look forward to the Hot List, but I tweezer through it. I'm not the least interested in what the manufacturer says. I look through the user comments. A lot aren't helpful. But sprinkled in there are some insightful comments or observations. I take note of those comments and then if I'm in the market make sure I look at those products that rated well for good reasons AND narrow my list by eliminating those sticks that consistently rated low.

Never really used the hot list in club making decisions. Basically, if something catches my eye on eBay or CL, I'll start by going to hackersparadise and/or thesandtrap.com, and if I'm still interested, then I'll start looking for the best deal I can find. Over the last two winters, I've replaced every club in my bag for less than $500.

On Morning Drive today, they were talking about the hot list. The Hot List app is a pretty good idea for those who don't care to buy a GD sub or issue. It comes out a week earlier than the magazine issue and has some interactive stuff. They've actually got audio of what the drivers sound like (in case that sort of thing is interesting to you).

I look forward to it and have bought on several occasions after testing the clubs for myself.

There was a time when I looked forward to it but now that my bag is set all I see is a lot of marketing hype. I wonder if it would actually change anyone's mind as to what clubs they'll go demo?

I look forward to the hotlist but cant really afford to buy any of it. the set of clubs I have I love and am very comfortable hitting (except for my hybrid....I cant hit that damn thing) but I like seeing the new technology that is out there.
