This is a pretty nice article - you hear so much about Make a Wish for kids - this ladies dream has always been to meet Fred Couples and at 91 she finally got the chance:

Wow! A professional golfer took a minute to shake hands with a fan. And maybe even signed an autograph. It isn't like he made a special trip across the country at his own expense to meet her in some elderly living facility or paid for some complicated medical procedure she couldn't afford, or even played nine holes with her or took her to dinner. He walked over and met her on the golf course he was playing at for a boatload of money. Isn't Freddy wonderful? Big f-in deal! If this is what we now consider an act worthy of such high praise, the bar has been lowered all the way into the dirt. If that had been my grandmother, and I did not remove my shades so she could look me in the eye, she would have slapped those shades off my face! |

So the girls can not see where are eyes are looking. Couples is just looking grandma over. If she has her shades on then she must be doing the same thing. |

Thursday afternoon at the Snoqualmie TPC was very sunny with the reflections from the mountain around, it was bright.
Anyone had their sun glasses with them would had used it ! If you think all the professional golfers have the time to stop and chat with their fans, you are wrong. Even on Thursday at the ProAm round the pro golfers were busy getting their game together. Come to think of this, anyone take off their hat or cap on the 18th green to shake hands with the playing partners for the last 3-4 hours ? Anyone even shake hands any more ? |

I usually do, even with my family members...okay, well they may get a hug. I admit I don't always think to remove my hat and I rarely where sun glasses. For me removing hats or sunglasses is a nice gesture but it doesn't bug me if they don't either. I was on business in Germany a few years back. One evening we went to the winter festival in Ulm. On departing we shook hands with our German hosts and one of them made a point to take off his glove. I did as well but I must admit it hadn't occurred to me before as being protocol. |

There's only two times I haven't done it in over 3 years of playing. 1st was last summer when I played with a twosome that was so rude and inconsiderate and oblivious to golf etiquette I walked off the final green straight to my bag and left. Just to be fair, they did the same thing the same time I was doing it. 2nd was earlier this summer when a thunderstorm was approaching fast and I wanted to just get the hell indoors. They were behind me by the time I was on the green, I just putted out real quick and waved and said see ya. |
