Ok I have heard them say this at least twice already in the coverage of Accenture and then I heard it again during several basketball games lately and it's driving me crazy. The announcers saying "This guy seems to know what he's doing?" Really? Imagine that a pro athlete that knows what he is doing in his sport....UGH....ok, don't know why that is bugging me so much but I feel better now LOL.

Yeah... Hear a lot of that with the announcers. It's been brought up a couple times on here, but the 1 that really makes me wanna put a gunshot through my television is when they say, "He's not afraid to go low." Well, no kidding Sherlock. It's not like everyone else has a chronic fear of shooting 64 or better, and they're just scared to shoot that good. There's another quote too I'm thinking of but I can't remember what it is.

I could easily shoot a 64 if I just wasn't 'scared to go low."

Sometimes it is more enjoyable to watch with the Mute button on.

Solution? Some days, I'd rather watch and LISTEN to the Men's European Announcers.....YOU REALLY want to go nuts? Try to listen to the current Announcing DUO for the LPGA HSBC Singapore event...... I prefer the European announcers as well. They know when to comment and when to let us enjoy the shots without useless banter. |

I agree with tothetop and Arizona. As for the "go low" comment...while I agree that it gets old my interpretation had more to do with with playing aggressively vs passive acceptance of getting a low score.

Q: Would you like to break 70 today?
A: I don't think so. I'd rather shoot my usual 85. I'm afraid to go low. |

They have to fill in the air time, oh wait, maybe they can fit in another commercial.
