Bernard Langer carded a 10 on a Par 5 yesterday. It took him 5 strokes to get out of the lava stones because there was no reasonable spot to take relief. What was the highest score you've carded in your golf career?? And what was the reason for the extra strokes??? This should be funny...

No offence Vince, but that's pretty horrible. I say that with love. |

Couldn't remember off the top of my head, which I suppose is a good thing. Looks like it's 11. Came back in 2008 so I can't say I remember anything. It's a brutal hole though. http://www.ushandicap.com/golf..

I heard a quote once that was totally fitting for this. "It's surprisingly easy to drain a 40 foot putt, when it's for a 10"

There are too many painful double digits to recall. One good thing about having senior memory loss.

I think a 10 is what I remember , only because my chip was within 5 ft so the putt was a gimme.

Note that the originator of this discussion hasn't told us HIS worst hole score? Not TOO pompous are we? One thing I know for sure, your worst hole score in the last 3 years or so HAD to be in PA. I just have that effect on you.
My worst score? I don't know exactly but 12 sticks in my head. Still searching the records here to find it. |

I tried to find it on my own, but since this saint refuses to put up a hole by hole score whenever he doesn't break 80, it's hard to get a definitive answer. Worst I could SEE was a 6, but he says on the round in which he was statistically worst he had a triple, so I'm going to assume at least a 7. Maybe 8 if we're lucky. |

I have had a Triple while playing with both Don's. One at Jeffersonville on a Par 3 and with Don Freeman at Jacaranda a few months back when I hit 2 water balls on a Par 5. My worse was 9 in college while playing in our Conference Quarter finals. I had 3 water balls on a Par 4 and killed our chances to make the Semis. I had a lot to drink that night and miraculously could not remember a thing the next day. |

First hole I ever played was as a kid with my brother in the middle of summer on a course that only watered the fairways and greens and had 3 foot high yellow grass standing up like wheat everywhere else. We each lost six balls on the first hole. It took me twelve swings to hole out. So that would be an 18. We didn't even finish nine holes before we ran out of balls.

Did you chip in? |
