Help my dad with trying to find his swing

My dad has only played two rounds of golf in the past two years. Today when we were golfing, he kept topping, hooking, slicing, pulling, pushing, or fluffing. He's 54 and always breaks his wrist when he tries to golf. Besides that, he has a problem turning his one shoulder when he swings.

He has spent two years trying to find his swing. I am considering getting him some lessons but do not want to spend too much of my earned income from my job. What tips can you offer my dad so he can become a better senior golfer once he hits age 55 in about 11 months?

Since it does not sound like your Dad is a natural golfer; he'll need to start from step one.
The fundamental of grip, posture,e stnace,alignment....
It's summer time and many golf courses and / or driving range have group lessons; why don't you sign him up for one to start ?
For about 2 green fees and some practice time, he could enjoy this game much more.

I'm not sure I understand. You said your dad spent the last two years trying to find his swing yet he has only played TWICE over the past two years??? My first instructor started by telling me the following: if you go to the range once a week, you won't improve, you will actually get worse; if you go twice, you'll stay at the same level and if you go three times or more, you'll start seeing improvements. Golfing ability starts with practice. Even if your dad takes lessons, if he never goes to the range or plays on a golf course, he will never improve. It would be like trying to learn Chinese without ever speaking it :)
