After watching "Bubba Golf" during the HSBC. It is clear that the eagle out of the sand trap was one of the best scrambles for a needed score in quite some time. Got me thinking what the best "miraculous Par save" you ever had??

I may have had better shots to save a par but one stands out because of the situation. Playing a club championship in 2012, I went to 18 a shot down to my playing partner for the 1st flight title. He teed off the 290 par 4 first and put it in the fairway bunker. I then hit a 4 iron down the left side. I had kicked OB and had to go back to re tee. He wanted to hit his shot while I went back and I said OK. He came up short in the green side bunker but had a pretty easy shot to save par. So I pulled driver and flew it to 20'. He had only 7-8' but was on the high side. I drained mine and he 3 putted for a double. I play team matches with him nearly every week and he tells me every time he just didn't want my par to go to waste. Great story, Shawn. |

Since Lee mentioned his birdie chip in, I have to mention the National Get Together at Ravens Claw. Playing with Greg and Dirk, and hole #5 was a birdie that I pitched in from 40 yards out. High fives all around. I see you forgot my 3W, 9I chunk, and SW chip in from 50 yards at Wyncote. Who could forget that! I got to see some good golf from you, but then they separated us and your game went to hell. Note to Don... Always keep the dynamic Duo together! Sounds like a challenge ! |

I know this wasn't for par but a par four eagle save from the fairway bunker at about 140 yards was pretty impressive this past Saturday. Young Shon did just that on one bounce at Amelia National on hole number 10. Pretty sick!
