As someone who's known you since the first day you invaded this website with your shooting monkey, I'd like to think I'm one of the better friends you've made on this website. After all, I'm friends with you on Facebook, and to my knowledge, you're the only person from this site who's ever interacted with one of my friends from school. That's a disturbing thought; one I'd like to think is a one time occurrence.

As your friend, I find it appropriate and not irresponsible in the least to eulogize you and roast you at this time.

Here, ladies and gentlemen, we have Jesse Hiner, AKA Bucknut. If my calculations are correct, this is the eighth time Buck has ever declared his complete and total resignation, one that will never bring him back to this website. Those eight times have all taken place within the last four years, I believe.

With this eighth time now, it means that something very impressive has happened. Up until September 2013, there were two guarantees in life for Americans. Those being death and taxes. Simply eight months later, there have been just as many guarantees added to prior existing two, both of which Buck has a significant role in. The first of the new guarantees is Tony Romo throwing an interception late in the 4th quarter with a Cowboys game on the line. The next latest guarantee is Buck saying within a seven month period of time, he will forever leave this website. Thus, there are only four guarantees in life. Death, taxes, a late 4th quarter interception from Tony Romo, and Buck saying he's gone for good from this site.

One unknown detail to that of Buck's latest removal from US Handicap is that for the most part of 2014, he has in fact been gone from this website. In that time, most members on this site have coined their own phrase or word of choice, leading to many enjoyable and very humorous discussions. There has also been a national get-together organized and created for the first time in this website's history. With that, several regional get-togethers, that include your very own southeast, Buck.

The thing is that while all those have been going on and you've been stroking your kitten to 1980's Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl teams, your lack of presence has been neither noticed nor missed. Not once have I seen anyone say they had wished you would be around for a get-together, simply because you already have been gone. And no one has dwelled on it.

That's the ironic thing about this post. For someone that's been gone for months while no one's really even noticed, it's interesting you decided to post a forum notifying us of your latest leave of absence. It's all quite similar to Brett Favre saying he'd retire, then unretire, then retire again, and then... After a while, no one cared anymore. That's the same thing that's happened here. While Otter, Jay, and Daniel may be expressing their regrets to see you go, haven't they done the same thing as many times as you've said you'd leave?

There are lots of reasons to be active on this site right now. A hell of a lot more than there have been in the past. If you don't want to be a part of it, then don't. If you did, I'd prefer you post a topic on the forum that showed a willingness or want to contribute to the good things going on right now.

Buck, I wish you well on your quest, but just can't stop thinking of the time on this site where I actually had a beverage come out of my nose while exchanging some "meaningful" banter. When LL was thinking about where to move and you were encouraging him to move to Hollywood, FL and I was trying to combat all your suggestions, and what resulted was pure comic genius! All the Best... you are welcome back any time! (Or 3 months from now... whichever comes sooner) LOL

You don't have to leave. I cancelled my membership a few weeks ago. I don't get a handicap, but I still have access to the forums. All except for the premium ones, which I could care less about. They are the ones the snobs read and post on. (hehe). I'm just sayin'.......

Why are you answering when he is gone? Later Buck, if you are really really gone then you will be missed. I suspect this is kind of like the guy that had it advertised he had died so he could see what his funeral was like. I personally think it is a great move on your part. Really though you will be missed if indeed you are going, but then you wont be reading this if you are gone so you just wasted 30 seconds of my time, ya bugger head.
