It took me till today, 3 days afterwards to get done pouting. I had been shooting in the high 70's to low 80's at my home course on a regular basis, so I figured with the handicap I had established there was a good shot of me taking the handicap division at my Club Championship last weekend and getting one of those parking spots.
3 snowmen showed up Saturday morning. THREE!!!!!! IN SOUTH WEST GEORGIA! What the hell is a snowman doing down here? Not only did Frosty show up, he brought along Jack Frost and The Abominable Snowman. Shot a 92! Sunday roll's around and Frosty figured they had done enough damage so he was the only one to show up that day. That helped with a nice (not so) 86 I think it was. Anyhow it is time to take a break. I am burnt out like a Colorado college student with a medicinal card. |

When results do not meet expectations it leads to major disappointment. Been down that road too many times that I finally have come to the conclusion that when I "play" golf I truly am gonna play and not worry about the score.
So Buck, just go out and play your game and swing your swing and enjoy the challenge. Do you wanna see where your game is? Try this: Play two balls on each shot. Take the better of the two shots and score that. That is truly where your game is or where you can be every time, given the proper focus. If you are not a scorecard watcher (and I am not) then do not become one. |

The issue with playing mostly one or a handful golf course is that will relax you too much to pay attention to the game.
If you wish to play good tournament golf, you will need to get around a bit to play all the top rated golf courses with different design, links, treed, hilly, lots of bunkers, lots of hazards.... Playing the higher slope rating golf course will sharpen your skill ( best to have the tools to play those difficult golf course ). Exactly why a traveling handicap index is more accurate then a home course only handicap index. |
