After dropping 3 or 4 strokes per side on the greens Sunday, the golfstore giftcard I had been holding onto all the sudden got hot and started burning a hole in my pocket.
I tried all the mallet putters in my price range and narrowed it down between a Yes Groove and a Rife two bar.
From there it was just a matter of cosmetics and a bit more true roll with the Rife.
I know my putting stroke is unique at best,so I tried to find a putter that is easy to line up and you can also mess with the weighting and shaft angle on this one.
So wish me luck and please share your "its the arrow not the Indian" purchases you have made recently.

I have used 3 different scotty cameron's in the last few years and my current gamer is the Studio Select Newport 2 with the heavy weights. I had used an Odyssey putter previously but the Scotty's just has a true feel about them.

I bought the rife two bar last season. best putter I have ever played with. the fact that you can custom fit this putter to your stance is a great feature. The lie was the important thing. I never had a putter that laid flat on the ground. Have taken 3-4 puts off my score. good luck!

The putter is the most highly swapped out piece of equipment there is. I actually traded 2 putters, a 3 wood, and 2 wedges for my current and LAST putter. I have the Odyssey Black i-Series #9. I love it. Good luck with what you choose. Keep us posted on how it works out.

I'm not even smart enough to trade in the three I have in thr basement!!!

I've got 4 putters that I will use on a regular basis...a Yes! Callie, a MacGregor Ironmaster blade, a MacGregor Response ZT, and an old Carbite mallet. I also used to have a first-generation Odyssey blade that was quite nice. All of them were impulse buys...I liked them in the store, and they ended up going home with me. I putt pretty much the same with all of them, but when my stroke is good, my best results are with that old MacGregor blade. It seems like I can feel the line better with it.

Good luck with your new putter! Here's to many birdie putts that go in!

I strongly recommend regripping your putter. I bought a new putter last year that I love but got a large grip for it and it's made a HUGE difference for me. The larger grip helps you keep your wrists straight and take them out of the equation for the post part keeping your puts constantly straight.

Thanks for the tip. I'm kind of a grip junkie anyway!!!

Much like you, I bought a putter on a whim after putting with it and loving the feel. unfortunately, it was a Cameron Studio Stainless, and burned a hole not only in my wallet, but also my rent payment! HA!

The happy ending is that since I spent that rediculous amount of money on a putter, I have taken it much more serious, and last weekend posted a 26 putt round with 10 1-putts! Sometimes the arrows make the indian focus better.

Other impulse buys: Oddyssey 2 ball, Countless boxes of balls, and a lifetime's worth of dissapointing training aids.

I have a spendy Cameron myself. I putted so badly with it this last Sunday, I could hardly believe it.
I was over at a buddy's house later that day and was putting on his practice green with his Nike. It was huge, but it felt good off the face and I seemed to line up better with it.
Monday I came home with the Rife because of similar qualities and the fact that you can adjust the weighting and the lie angle.
I also have two Odysseys in my closet collecting dust!!!

The two bar putter from Rife is a nice putter.
I often joke with my friends, if yo couldn't putt well with this putter, you might want to play another sport.
Have fun with the new putter.
