I played 18 today for the first time this year. I hit my driver and sand-lob wedges well. However 4-pw I could not hit to save my life. What are some possible problems? I sprayed my mid and short irons to the right. Almost a shank. My driver, I felt the club going back 3 or so inches, I would hinge finish my back swing. With my SW, it was a faster hinge but with good results also. With my mid and short irons, it feels like Im chopping firewood. The club is way too inside, but I couldn't get myself to hinge or turn properly. My driving and short game saved my sub 100 score. All suggestions, including any other sports you think I should take up would be great!!

Thank you,
Evan

Thanks for the encouragement. I was sick a couple of days last week. Sure that doesn't help much either.

Thanks for the the advice. I really need to learn more patience when it comes to golf especially after a few months away from the game.

Did you have a lot of change in your right pocket?LOL
Hit a couple hundred at the range. You'll get your groove back.
First round of the year is always interesting.

Check your weight transfer; you must remember to complete the weight shift to your front side on the follow through.
I had seen so many golfers on the driving range recently trying to remember how they swing the golf clubs last summer, but they always over powering with their arms and not complete the weight shift.
