Hey Everyone,

I have noticed lately when starting my backswing, I tend to take it too far inside with my irons. This causes an over the top move and I spray to the right.

I've heard alot about swinging on a wider arc, but when I try,I feel like the club is going way outside.
Any tips or drills would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Evan

When you're "practicing", set your wrist first before turning.
By lifting the club head off the ground and set your wrists first from the address position, will force you to turn more with your shoulder and trunk.
If you feel a bit tight to turn at first, it's no sin to lift your left heel to assist the turning. Just remember to plant the heel back on the down swing

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try it next weather break.

Last time I was at the range, I tried standing closer to the ball to get a bet idea of where the club is on takeaway. This may have fouled me up too.

I use the cup and saucer method. Driver 3,4 and even 5 iron is the saucer and 6 thru PW are the cup,or steeper swing.

You are definitely over thinking your swing.
