I've had birds and squirrels rob food from my cart before, but this is too much.

At almost all times .38 Smith and Wesson J frame 5 shot revolver in the pocket of the bag...kinda out there but you never know what kind of dumb sh8t can happen. Thought abt carrying my Walther to work when i get off so late

Are you serious? Sometimes I joke to my friends and parents that I keep a sniper in my locker at school because some weird stuff can happen, but you've made jokes I've made and heard become reality. If you're honest.

Aim true, no witnesses! They can't sue you if they're dead.

She's not the only one, my brother-in-law carries a 45 and I carry my 9. The gold course I frequent is run by the city but it's surrounded by "the hood." Always thug wannabe's crossing fairways to get to the other side of the hood.

wow, i've thought about it. i've been saying i need to start carrying more but never really thought at the course. might need to throw my Glock 23 in the bag. better to have it and not need it, right? cogo, i wouldn't joke about keeping a gun in your locker, either. i know you're just playing but just saying that can get you in a world of trouble. be careful, buddy.

Absolutely Lindsey, I carry my 9MM when I go to certain golf courses here in Houston. I used to play Brock Park on the East side years ago and quit going there when there were reports of druggies coming out of the abandoned houses on the back nine and robbing the golfers. This was pre-CHL. Now, I have my CHL and I will carry it wherever I think I need to. If you don't like it, that's just too damn bad!

It's a Ruger 9MM. I do like it and I periodically practice at the range with it. I also have a Ruger 22 that I love to shoot. I don't especially like to carry my weapon, but I will if I believe I have to. I really bought it for home protection but decided to get my CHL as the crime rate has increased.

By the way, I want to point out that my comment "If you don't like it......" was NOT directed at Lindsey. It was directed at the generic or universal "you." I agree with Lindsey that we need to be prepared. Sometimes, one doesn't realize how a comment may appear until you see it in print.

Understand the "you" comment and I agree with the statement.

Yes Co, I have the right to bear arms...and I will execute that right if needed self-defense. Its a precaution...at one point, a few years ago, the City of North Charleston was considered the 3rd most dangerous city per capita and currently still within the top 20...trust me nothing to brag about either its not a joke; I have carried a firearm on numerous occasions.

amazingly i've NEVER carried a gun and have made it 38 years and counting ... except when I'm dove hunting ... then i carry a big gun

if somebody wants you're gone, you're gone ... sh8t can happen a whole lot faster than you can reach for your pistolas ...

but good luck with your constitutionally-protected weaponry!

I'm all for guns, but if you guys play at golf courses that are so bad you need to be packing, you need to move. I have gotten in to multiple fist fights at my local muni, never once thought about shooting them.

I would never play with any one that I know has a gun in their bag. Guns definitly have their place, but the golf course aint one of em. Accidents happen.

I would like for one person on this site to tell me an instance where a gun saved their life on a golf course.

And as for the posted story, I'm sure there is probably a little more to this story than was reported. The victim could have easily been a pre-determined target.

I think a move towards the old west wouldn't be so bad if that kid in arizona knew people in the crowd had guns I bet he would have stayed home, at the very least he would have been stopped sooner.

You can have all the gun control you want but people who do illegal things with guns are probably going to get them illegally in the first place. Capital punishment should also be reinstated you get a case like Arizona where you have tons of witnesses and an airtight case that guy should be in for a short drop with an abrupt stop, none of this wasting taxpayer money while getting 3 squares and cable tv in jail.
