What is your opinion of Stracka now compared to when you originally joined?

I joined about 3 years ago. Compared to back then, I have less and less interest to log on. I'm lucky to have 100 activity points a week.

We ask for improvements and they are few and far between.

For example, I asked for bag tags back then so we could easily identify other Stackans on the course.

"We're getting them."

Almost 3 years and 2 additional posts later and still nothing.

Now the only thing the store has is discounts for Ga and TX, Yardage books for courses for the pros, and the opportunity to buy more Stracka points.
Why would we buy more points if there isn't anything to sell????????

I see people post topics and then one of the Admins reposts the same topic, now that person doesn't get the points they would have.
It's an unfair advantage since the Admin posts are always on the main page while our posts drop off eventually.
Sure it happens between members posting similar pics or topics, but a member is still getting points in those cases.

It's almost like this was a great idea that just got out of control and they no longer have the time, interest, or resources to mess with it any more.

I joined for the message board and find it's been dandy since day one. I'm a firm believer in "leave well enough alone" and Stracka seems to get it.

If we want to keep this site up and running to a standard we approve of, then they need to know how we really feel.

It may be a sign of the times, I don't know.

If it's an economy issue or something like that, then they need to let us know.

I'm sure there are people that would be willing to chip in.

It just doesn't seem as good as it used to be.

What do you think?

It's nice to talk to people in other parts of the world, Whats hard about it you make a friend and then they are gone and wish you knew why? did something happen to them? I Like it here ery much.

I am pretty happy with the site as it is now. I'm not a big fan of a site changing stuff just to be able to say it's "new and improved". I've found it's a great way to stay in touch with a few people in my local area that like to play once in awhile. I've enjoyed making some new "cyber-friends" too.

I get that it does seem like the site has lost some of it's luster and energy in the past year. I have also made suggestions from time to time and gotten no response. I do think the the "chat room" fiasco may have hurt the cause in getting user input implemented. Glad to see the whole "get rid of the blog section" died on the vine. Unless the Stracka Store can come up with an Otter head cover, I've got no interest there. Bag tags, not a bad idea, but I don't use my USGA bag tag so I doubt I'd use a Stracka one. The "Spam" issue did seem to get resolved, our entrepreneurial friends from Beijing haven't been around to bother us lately.

Overall, it's got a good beat, the kids can dance to it, I'll give it a 7...

If it wasn't for the handful of people I have come to be friends with (while meeting Lindesy, Dubs, Greenjacket, and Gary (GJ24)) in person along with the closest to the pin game I probably would not be on here. The best tips on here come from Goynes. Other than that I rarely hear anything new that I didn't already know. My handicap isn't valid with the course's around here. My golf club got dismantled when Jdubs got kicked off the site. There is nothing in the store to buy with the 225,000 points I have, and you have to "be nice" to people now or they may tell on you.

Hi all,

We are working on it now. All our recent enhancements are being compiled into a major re-release of the site planned for sometime in January 2012 (hopefully). We're excited about all the new stuff. ;)

I think it is better than when it started. I think the changes have happened slowly, but it is better. It's not what I would call perfect but A LOT better.

The site has come a long way since I joined in November 08, and I think it is better now. I'm not as bent on getting new features because I think with the exception of the ignore button it's perfectly fine as is.

The people on here are the best feature of the site. I get it that new features have been slow to come and not necessarily well thought out.

Overall though I'm pretty pleased with this site.
