I know all of you and myself included miss Pick4, Lucka, closest to the pin and the putting game. But I will say the new games do offer a challenge and that nagging desire to win something. Yes, points are gone but what did you really get out of winning points? A whole lot of points.
I have played all the new games atleast once and just found this email today:

Games this week: Get your picks in! Over $100 up for grabs.

Tuesday (tonight!): College Basketball
Thursday: Golf Match Play Pickem (pick the winner of heads up play)
Thursday: Golf SnipLine (decide if a player will make the cut)
Thursday thru Sunday: Lucka (pick what a player will shoot on individual holes)
--- Lucka will be open for picks 24 hours before each day to allow for the Tee Times to be posted.
Saturday: Pro Football - PLAYOFFS - Will Tebow win AGAIN?
Saturday: Pro Basketball

In all actuality what Stracka did was bring games that have more value...monetarily speaking to us.
Do I wish pick4 was still around? yes. Do I think the other games should have been just added to our already exsiting games? yes.
Since this is not the case, I think we should all give it a shot. If you don't like it so be it, but if you embrace change and can learn to live with it you might find it to be fun afterall.
Think about it though: Would you rather have a chance at useless points or a chance to win actual money? My answer: Show me the money!

If y'all don't want to play the new games, that's fine by me; that just gives more chances to win LOL :)

I have read the terms, they want $5 a week to play these games, we are playing free, for now.

Nicely done chica! As long as its free I'll play if I have to start paying I won't - no biggie either way. Old way was fun and loved the banter but it is what it is so make the best of it.

Someone asked in an earlier forum where the money was coming from for the payouts. I don't recall seeing an answer to that question. Will we eventually be charged a fee to play?

Yes, I asked the question and it went unanswered. I want to know where the money is coming from to do the payouts. Is it from paid memberships? Is it from the kindness of Stracka hearts hoping we will get hooked and then pay to play?

As Al said earlier, it does say in the terms that there is a charge of $4.69 per week to play. If you scroll down through the terms to "Addendum" and then down to item #11, it says that if you play through the free trial period and do not withdraw before the end of that period, then you will be billed.
What I don't know is whether we are considered to be in the free trial period or not. No explanation has been given. I also would like to know where we stand.

The games as we have them now are FREE and the payout are LEGIT. it does not cost to play these games.

And next year the cost will be...???

Blasphemy! No one (including me) expected them to beat Pittsburgh who had the best defense in the league, beating the 32nd defense must be a piece of cake.

Speak for yourself. It wasn't as epic as you may think due to the Steelers' injuries and the Broncos' home field advantage. Also, Head & Shoulders (Polamalu) played like crap in that game.

Your Broncos already had a crack at the "32nd defense" at home and riding a 6 game win streak. You should note that the Pats defense is in the top half of the league in points allowed (and ahead of Denver) and is 3rd in TO differential. (BTW, TO differential is a huge stat- 7 out of the top 8 teams in TO differential made the playoffs.)

The injury thing is incredibly tiresome. I don't know how many times I've been telling people this, but why not again?

-Brian Dawkins was out
Chris Kuper (Denver's best offensive lineman was out, with this. Not for the faint of heart if you haven't seen this picture, http://cdn2.sbnation.com/entry..)
-Eric Decker was out for 3 of the 4 quarters
-Knowshon Moreno has been out for several games

AGAIN, Denver had injuries and managed to overcome them. Part of the key to success in the NFL is figuring out a way to win when you have injuries. If you have injured players, then figure out a way to win with your 2nd stringers. Not rocket science.

I think it's rocket science to you. Tell me how did the Colts do w/o Manning? The Bears w/o Cutler? Did you notice a drop in the Texans performance after Schaub got injured? In fact you did, as you commented on that very fact on the Texans' forum. ("The Texans' injury problems have been absolutely the most unluckiest thing the entire year. If not for Schaub's injury, they could have very well gotten the week off I think after the great start they had."- Cogolfer1, January 7, 2012) So you are now contradicting yourself.

For you to compare an injured interior lineman (Kuper) or a 38 year-old safety (Dawkins) vs. a gimpy star quarterback in his prime (Rapistberger) who has led his team to multiple Super Bowl titles and is 10th all-time in QB rating is silly. The quarterback position is considered by many to be the most critical in all of major sports while guards are the least vital position on the offensive line. And McGahee is statistically equal to Moreno.

The bottom line is that it's very difficult to overcome injuries to key players, especially star quarterbacks, and less difficult to replace run-of-the-mill starters, such as the players you mentioned. It's no coincidence that the 3 best healthy quarterbacks in the NFL (Rodgers, Brees, and Brady) teams' are still alive in the playoffs.

I never said that the Steelers' injuries weren't unlucky. They were very unfortunate for them, and might have been the difference in the game. I won't take it back though that you have to overcome injuries in this league. FACT. Each team gets them each year. Yes injuries killed Chicago and Pittsburgh's seasons (leaving out Indy cuz I'm not convinced they'd have made it with Manning they were that bad), but you don't get handicap points put on the board because of that. And while Rodgers, Brees, and Brady are around, a 3rd stringer is still in being TJ Yates, Alex Smith who has successfully proven no one has to know who you are to win a division, and the 3rd worst quarterback in NFL history beating JaMarcus Russel and Ryan Leaf by a slim margin, Tim Tebow is still playing. The Ravens managed to win a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer, the Bucs with Brad Johnson, so it's not 100% bullet proof you need a great quarterback to win it all. But it does help. :)

I don't think very many people cared about winning points in Pick4. It was more to do with the competition, it was fun, exciting to follow. I think the new games lack this.

I do agree it was alot of fun and you could see how you were doing against your friends, the new game does lack that.
