Hey all, So I had probably the best 9 hole round ever walking for the 1st time; shot a 41 with 5 pars a double and 3 bogeys...and I'm excited to say the least. I went to the course on a day after a lot of rain and it was not even cart path only but walking only. The ground was so saturated to the point where they didn't even let out carts for cart path only. We have a push cart in the cart barn that a member stores up there so I decided to borrow it and walk anyway. I've never been opposed to walking just never tried it cause I play for free with a cart. I felt great after walking like after a good excercise eventhough it was hot and humid. After the round, I have decided to look into investing in a push cart and do a little bit more walking especailly on cart path only days (which walking is so much faster anyway). The problem with the push cart that I borrowed (other than it being someone elses) is that I had to put my bag on there sideways so the legs of my stand bad didn't kick out which kinda made it awkward. And most on the market are specifically made for or recommended for cart style bags, so I'm looking for one that will fit a stand bag with ease, not kick out the legs or damage the bag. I've done some shopping around and saw I few that I liked such as the Sun Mountain v2, Clicgear 3.0 and Caddytek. I don't want to spend a fortune but also want something that's gonna last. HELP, I need opinions, advice, suggestions! it doesn't have to be specially on those mentioned but if you have one of those listed please let me know how you like it. What would you recommend? Why? All the Caddytek ones that I've looked at claim to fit stand bags perfectly and would really like to know if this is true. I can't find them in any local stores

I have a remote control bag cart and I love it. I prefer to walk but my back can't handle it and my Bat Caddy X4R http://batcaddy.com/searchresu.. is perfect for me. It's so much more enjoyable than riding a cart. As far as your dilemma, another cheap option would be to simply put a bungee cord around your stand bag to keep the legs from popping out. BTW, I don't have that problem with the bag cart I use. Yes, this cart is more expensive, but it also doesn't bother my shoulder from pushing or pulling a cart.

I bought the Clicgear 3.0 last year and I have to say it's a pretty nice setup. It folds to a light and compact size. It has a water resistant compartment in front of the handle which I use for my range finder and extra balls. In front of the water resistant compartment there is a net which I use for a damp towel to clean the ball. It has a nice umbrella holder for when it rains and it has several areas in which to put additional cup holders. It wasn't cheap but for me it was worth it. The only issue I've had was when the brake cable came loose from the front wheel. It took all of five seconds to fix so it wasn't a big deal and it hasn't happened again. The bottom support is a loop so a bag stand shouldn't be an issue. I hope my review helps you with your decision. Good luck.

If you are really serious about walking, then invest in the clicgear. They are expensive, but are very solid and you see alot of older models with their wheels worn down on the courses. (ie. they have been around a long time). I have seen good reviews about the Tour Trek Push carts also. The pull carts will be less expensive, but they are also a pain to deal with also. Go with a push. You may consider looking at a second hand golf store also, they will most likely have quite a few used carts that you can buy and see if you will want to continue walking.

wow Lindsey it's too bad you don't live close to Chicago because I have a ClickGear cart and want to get rid of it so I can get the ClickGear 3.0 cart (because I want a red one). Would give it to you for almost nothing LOL. Seriously, you should get one, you will not regret it......yes it is expensive (unless you bought mine) but it is WELL worth the price. Hope you find one you like.

Lindsey...get a light carry bag and carry it is much easier then pushing espcially if the rough is deep.

For your situation, maybe you can buy a strap to tie up the legs on your current bag for the push/pull cart? the bag i have has straps to keep the legs in, but when I tried putting the bag on the push cart normal it kept moving and I'm assuming from the thing at the bottom the makes the legs come out. Funny thing is my bag barely sits well in a cart also.

You may consider looking at a second hand golf store also, they will most likely have quite a few used carts that you can buy and see if you will want to continue walking. so far clicgear has been on sale for $199 reasonable that just means I've got to work my tail feather off, lol ;-) I have an older pull cart, and it was a pain...in the neck, shoulder and the back of my legs. my course is hilly so pulling it uphill suck and then it wanted to take off on me coming down. I know whatcha mean about trying to find a used one. thanks :)

I love my clicgear 2.0. My stand bag does not fit perfect but it does not want to kick the legs out too bad. I basically only walk. I only ride when I am with a group I do not know too well, for events where it is mandatory, and on vacation when I do not take my push cart. That is the best thing about the clicgear it will fit in my luggage and only takes about 1/2 of the bag so I still have room for clothes and things. Did I mention I love my clicgear? so far sounds like the concenus does too ;-)

Lindsey...get a light carry bag and carry it is much easier then pushing espcially if the rough is deep. can't do carry, I wouldn't make it past the 3rd hole. the push cart i used was dated but easy.

Would give it to you for almost nothing LOL. Seriously, you should get one, you will not regret it......yes it is expensive (unless you bought mine) but it is WELL worth the price. Hey all,

My wife has a Sun Mountain SV1 cart, and really likes it.Her bag is not a stand bag though. I generally carry my Ping Hoofer bag.

that's pretty cool but waaayyy out of my price range. my shoulder didn't bother me with the push cart only with pull carts and no way i could carry.

so far clicgear has been on sale for $199 reasonable that just means I've got to work my tail feather off, lol ;-)

I love my clicgear 2.0. My stand bag does not fit perfect but it does not want to kick the legs out too bad. I basically only walk. I only ride when I am with a group I do not know too well, for events where it is mandatory, and on vacation when I do not take my push cart. can't do carry, I wouldn't make it past the 3rd hole. the push cart i used was dated but easy.
