There is a player in my club that posted 9 rounds on a single day. Eight were 18 hole with one 9 hole round. This seems impossible to me but I would like to hear from the speed golfers out there.

612 holes in one day is the world record. http://www.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/../
It can be done. Although that member is probably just posting past rounds and forgot to change the date on each. Considering we're at the point of the year where we're in the bottom 20 as far as days with most light, it'd be incredibly hard to pull off right now. |

Several years ago, three of us played 5.5 rounds on a par 62 executive course in June. We teed off at 5:30 AM and played until dark. It was a lot of fun ... but we vowed we'd never do it again.

Playing alone with a start at sunup, with a cart, and with no one in front of me, it would be possible. But the chances of all of that falling into place are rather long odds. Besides the wife might get an idea like buying a new vehicle.

My personal best. March 13th. Walking. 3 rounds.
http://www.ushandicap.com/golf.. http://www.ushandicap.com/golf.. http://www.ushandicap.com/golf.. Nine 18's and a bonus 9 on one day? That's 171 holes. If someone started at 6 am and played until 9 pm that would be an 11.4 hole per hour pace or one hole every 5 min and 15 seconds. Maybe if the played San Jose Muni and no one else was on the course? |

Played 2 18-hole rounds in Vegas during 1 day and at night, I played the Cloud 9 course at Angel Park. It's a lit up Par 3 replica course. After 36, I'm usually better off following that up with a buffet.

I was there just yesterday and after a few days of rain and now the cold (they had frost delay until 9:30), it took 5 hours to go through the swamp. It was with nice folks and everything (for a change!), but it was still 5 hours and we finished with the very last bit of daylight... So, no 171 holes or whatever ain't happening there, even on June 21st. As already mentioned, it's a guy that dumped a bunch of scores in one sitting, never realizing that one variable of each round is the day/date when it was played. Duh! |

We started playing (Kiva Dunes) at 8:00am - 8:00pm at a pretty quick pace and we only completed 72 holes. Not buying the goods. |
