Travelling to Norfolk this week. Looking for opinions on courses, must plays, and opinions on best military courses in a about 100 mile radius.
I am a bargain golfer so not crazy about spending alot but like finding specials on upper tier courses on golf now.
Any input would be appreciaqted

I play a few courses regularly in the area that I really like: Cahoon Plantation, Redwing Lake, and Virginia Beach National. Military courses: I would stay away from Sewell's Point at Naval Station Norfolk - the few times I've been there it seems as though the course was not well tended to. However, the Hornet and Tomcat courses at Oceana are decent, on-base, courses. I prefer the Hornet of the two, a bit more challenging and the newer of the two courses. Course I have never played/want to: The Signature at West Neck (Arnold Palmer design). Heard great things about it, a bit pricier, but if you're looking for a nice course, I would say: Cahoon, Virginia Beach National, and the Signature.
