I bought got a diamana blueboard driver shaft and brought it to Golfers Wharehouse to get it installed to see if it would improve my drivers performance, specifically distance. Well I hit my driver on the launch monitor and with my numbers, 92-95 swing speed and 2200-2600 spin, they said the diamina would not be a very good shaft for me.

I decided to try an R9 460 to see if the newer technology would make any difference. The driver I was using is an R5 about 5 years old but worked very well for me and was very accurate. Well, the R9 460 was giving me a higher launch angle and adding 15 yards to my drives. They were having a special with that driver for $199 so I bought it.

Anyone play this driver? What do you think? I havent gotten a chance to get it on the course yet.

I tried it for about 10 rounds. I switched back to my Titliest 983. I think I let all the possible changes with the weights and angles get in my head. It semmed like I wanted to switch something every round. Just never got comfortable with it.

I sold it to my brother in law and he loves it. Go figure.......

Same thing. I won one in a tournament. Tried it, but ended up staying with my Titleist 907. I sold it for $250

As you probably know, I play The Taylormade R7TP, I tried the TM R9 TP, I did like but the price tag was above my cut line $ 899.00. I got to test it out and my swing speed was between 95 to 97 mph with a smash factor of 1.4 I was getting 10 to 15 yds more.

Yes, I have the R9 460 TP (Tour Pro)...Best driver i ever hit. With a 100-105 mph swing speed and 270 yard drives, its a great driver and i tried all of them. Would not use anything else.

I've had both a Nike Dymo Str 8 fit and a taylormade r7 and the adjust ability got into my head too.

I hit the R9 SuperDeep at a Golf Smith near me, I liked it, but to me, the best driver I've hit in the past few years is still the first one I bought, the Super Quad TP. I've had all kinds of drivers, FT-Iq, Ft-9, FT-i, burner 08, burner 07, and to me, the Super Quad is just the best. I put an Aldila RIP shaft in it, and it is just fine for me.

I got my r9 460 TP in the mail the other day and brought it to the range to test out. I got the stiff shaft motore F1 bit it felt much stiffer than my stiff flex stock r5 shaft. Well I hit a bucket of balls and all of my shots faded and some even sliced. It seemed I had to swing as hard as i could to get it to start strait and tail off at the end. I have it set to NU whick is 2 degree closed face, that should match my r5. My usual ball flight with the r5 and other clubs in my bag is a 5 yard draw. My will is a hook or sometimes a block but not a slice and never a small fade.

I am thinking I got the worng shaft and the TP motore F1 shaft is for someone that has a higher swing speed than me. My ss is 95 mph.

Anyone know anything about this problem? I had to use my old driver for the round.

Ok, I sold my R9 460 TP and bought the stock R9 460 with the aldila stiff flex. I brought my old R5 and the new R9 to the range today to set up. I warmed up with my R5 and was hitting straigh shots with a little draw at the end, my normal trajectory. I set the R9 1 setting left of NU and started to hit it. I was getting pretty much the exact same trajectory except a little higher launch. I am very happy with the R9 now that it is set properly to me. I will be playing it on the course this weekend but am hoping to get some extra distance. This club is 5 eyars newer than the R5 so the newer technology should give me some improvement. Great feeling driver and should be a smooth transistion from my old driver. The TP stiff shaft was definitly too stiff so the shaft makes a huge difference. If it does not match your swing the club wont work properly.
