Does anyone play TPC Boston, the site of the Deuche Bank? It is a private but I was wondering if anyone has played or can play it. I have been trying to get on that course for awhile but dont know any members, if you can bring a guest and are interested I would love to play. Let me know if possible, thanks.

I know of someone who has played it who is not a member, so it is possible to get on that course. He said it wasn't that special (probably in the context of it hosting a FedEx event and thinking the course would be phenominal).

Bryan, I have played the course a dozen or more times. The company I work for is one of the founding partners. The membership allows two employees full family playing privileges. Guests may play with a member. Because of the number of clients we bring to play there, arrangements have to be made well in advance with the playing members, and guests for our company are limited to employees and clients.

The course is really not that great, at least in my opinion. As you know, it underwent major design changes a few years ago by Gil Hanse and Brad Faxon. There are no really memorable holes.

I think both Pinehills courses in Plymouth are better. Have you played there? And a course which is far better than TPC Boston is Lake of Isles at Foxwoods. If you haven't played it, make sure you do so. It's a little pricy ($200/$225) but definitely worth the money.

I haven't played this course either, but I've heard you can use a Foxwoods Dream Card to pay your greens fees. So, if you gamble at Foxwoods and use this card, you can use the accumulated points on the card to offset the greens fees. Of course, losing a grand gambling to pay for a $200 green fee may not be a sound business decision. I've also heard that you need to book tee times on this course at least a few weeks in advance.

My wife and I stayed and played two rounds there two years ago, mid-week. We checked in mid-afternoon, and made tee times for the following two mornings with no trouble. But If I was going again, I'd definitely book ahead.

I have played the Pine Hills Nicholaus course, I thought it was a great course in very good condition as well as great practice facility. Also we played during twilight so it was around $58 which was a great deal. I have not played Lake of Isles yet but that is on the list so hopefully this fall I will be able to get down there.

The reason I would like to play TPC Boston is because I was there to watch the Deauche Bank and walked many of the holes. I have played many nice courses but not a pga course. Also I live a few towns away so it is pretty close.

I am going to CA in October for a wedding and am schedualed to play Torrey Pines South Course so I am really looking forward to that. Anyone play there?

One amazing thing about Boston is the green speed and slope of the greens. The first time I played, the member told me play half the break I though I saw, and putt at 60% of the speed you think you should hit it.

He was absolutely right. On the first hole I had an eight-foot birdie putt that was straight and flat, and I putted it 8 feet past the hole. Most of us don't play courses with greens that fast.
