The guy blows a 2 shot lead, and then flirts with a playoff by an awesom sand shot. Only to come up 1" short...thats gotta be the story of this guy's life. Too Bad.

Inch is Sergio's least favorite word. Today at wyndahm, 2 years ago at Carnoustie(his lipout on 72nd hole for par and the win) and a year ago at Oakland Hills(putt for birdie on 71st hole)

No "poor" Sergio in my mind. It's all about Karma. Spitting into the cup, whining about bad breaks, and the "it's everyone else's fault but mine" routine. It's Karma.

IMO, he won't win a Major until he grows up.

You got that right Phife......bottom line Sergio chocks and can not accept responsibility for it! Oh yeah forgot the most important thing HE CAN'T PUTT EITHER!

POOR SERGIO, I THINK NOT!

Have to agree with most everyone so far...I don't feel bad for him because he's a complainer. He simply gave up the lead. No bad breaks this time. He's is a good golfer and CAN win a big tournament (TPC Sawgrass for example). I don't know why, I can't put my finger on it (other than his whining) but I can't pull for him and don't care if he ever wins a Major.

Never underestimate the heart of a champion. Watch for the Ryder Cup in 2010. He will be there in full force. Don't count this guy out yet.

There is no doubt that Sergio is a great ballstriker, but the guy is a headcase. He plays well in the Ryder Cup beccause he has a cushion (his fellow teammates). Golf is not a team sport, and yet Sergio seems to be a "team player."

Meaning he great in team events, but can't win the big one when all the pressure are on his shoulders. So what if he plays well in Ryder Cup events? In the grand scheme of the game nobody looks at Ryder Cup points!

If Sergio never wins a major but ends up being the alltime Ryder Cup points leader do you honestly think that means something?

After reading "don't hate me", maybe you should contact Sergio and just offer him a little advice and a hug Dr. Phil style.. I agree, Sergio is a classic headcase job. He is a perfect example of why some golfers needs "shrinks"..

Well, Kyle, his record is as good or better than Tiger's in Ryder Cup. Yes, I do think it means something. Take Phil and I'll Sergio in Ryder Cup. Let's see who will win.

I like Sergio, he's one of my favorites but I agree. He won't really become a major force in golf until he learns to quit whining. He needs someone to teach him that whenever he says things in certain ways, he comes across as a whiner. And nobody likes a whiner.

He needs to give others the credit when he loses and not complain that he always gets the bad breaks. He will come across better. He can say stuff like: I did my best but Mikkelson (or whomever) just played better. I'm going to have to improve my short game if I'm going to compete against him. Stuff something along those lines. Just quit whining............

The golf gods don't like it when you spit in a cup.

I loved his reaction at the Masters this year. "It's unfair. There are huge chunks of mud in the fairways." Hmm. I never saw them. Even if they were there, it didn't stop Kenny, Chad, and Angel from going 12 under.

I don't feel sorry for him. I don't like when pros complain when playing under the same circumstances as everyone else. I can't understand with all the better players out there that show more class how this guy actually has fans. I don't know why I don't like him so much. He just looks like that kid that told on you in school and can't understand why he gets his ass beat. I don't really see him winning a Major his approaches are going to have to be within 8 feet with his putting and even if in position I just think he'll be reminded of how he hasn't done it yet and choke. Then blame it on something other than his play.

Guys you are looking at this in the wrong way, not poor Sergio how about poor us. He works at what we love to immulate. He has a dreamy Bank Account with 8 figures to wallow in. So he can't putt worth a dam, neither can we, yet he is the one playing anywhere he wants on a daily basis.
