I began playing when I was 29 years old, and boy I had the "fever". I played 3-4 times a week, even if it was by myself at the pitch and putt. I progressed from whffing at the ball to about a 20 handicap in 1 year, then I hit the wall! I sucked so bad some days, I thought about giving it up. I broke shafts, cussed in front of kids, basically made a jack ass out of myself. Eventually, I broke out of my slump, and have played pretty consistent golf for the past 2-3 years, The moral of this story is, I know I'm not the only one. Don't give up! Adjust your attitude and you will improve. I'm not great, but I shoot in mid 80's up to low 90"s every time I play, and for me that's good enough to have fun at it, because some days I catch fire, but it's only one or two holes that keep me from breaking 80. (I know you all feel me) I play Cleveland Irons, wedges, putter and driver; Adams 5 wood; and Nickent hybrid. I'm always down to play with new people in the greater Sacramento area. PEACE! |
