The idea is to keep pace with the group in front of you, general rule of thumb no further then a green away when on the tee. So if that means you play in 3:45 minutes great, even 4:30 minutes great, just keep pace. No one should have to wait anymore then a few minutes on any tee box (3 minutes per tee box is 54 minutes, then add 15 minutes per hole that is another 4.5 hours)

Everyone has a right to play golf, (here it comes) BUT, they do not have the right to impede the play of others!

KEEP FREAKIN PACE, No excuses are acceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The foursome ahead of my brother, his wife and I teed off more than a half hour ahead of us, as the lady working the counter in the pro shop struggled to understand that I had ALREADY paid in full on golfnow and didn't owe her a dime, even WITH the printed confirmation in my hand for her to read. Brian, Eva, and I caught up with them at the 2nd tee.

I got lost here when you threw in the Golfnow.com part. What exactly is it you're trying to say?

I made the reservation online through golfnow. It was one of the ultra low rate one where you have to pay the entire amount upfront to reserve. It was $10.00 greens + cart fee/pp + $1.99 golfnow fee = $11.99/pp or $35.97 which was charged to my debit card.

I printed off the confirmation that said "$35.97 paid now, NOTHING due at course."

Well, the dumb butt behind the counter couldn't make sense of it.... you HAVE to owe us something.... no ma'am, golfnow has already collected on your behalf... she had to call her supervisor (who was on vacation).... it took her over 30 minutes to process our tee time (which was already reserved online)....

clearer now?

Shaun

Now I get it. I was just confused when you threw that in right in the middle of the talk of the slow players. Gracias!

that's the Tiger effect...makes playing more of a hassle than enjoyable.

Speed of play is 50% of the reason I joined a country club. I can play 18 holes with a cart at my club in 2 hours...2 1/2 hours if I am walking.

I played a public course last week and the first 9 holes took 2 3/4 hours. I walked off.

Sometimes more money means better convenience. I can play 18 holes before I go to work...9 over lunch...and so on.

I am debating or trying to justify this now!

Works for me, but what I really can't stand are guys who are not ready when it is their turn to play. They haven't checked their distance, pulled a club, and sometimes put their glove on. It's a disgrace.

The really funny one is its usually when I'm walking, carters behind me will sit on their cart and wait. Ready golf means on the tee box, ball teed ready to hit when the group ahead clears. I'll look back after I clear the green and most of the time they are just walking off the tee. Or if the path rule is path only that day 99% of people won't walk out to their ball so they can hit when the green is clear they don't get off their cart until the hole is clear.
