This is no slouch field by any means! Whoever captures the title will have beat many quality players!

They won't recoup the Tournament expenses, appearance fee... by selling field tickets.
Vapor thin crowd for such a field of talents, most of the players would have more audience playing at their own country club. |

Once again, it just shows how there is no atmosphere at golf tournaments across the big pond, like here in the states. Nothing better than the PGA Tour in the U.S.... |

I don't think golf is a mainstream sport in China. I believe it's more of a high society thing in China at this juncture, reserved for businesspeople and officials. Presently, there would probably be larger crowds for a Tiger vs. Phil exhibition ping-pong match than a Tiger vs. Phil golf match. |

I don't even watch it. Eventhough i saw a little bit of the replay at work last night cause I keep it on the golf channel or ESPN at work.

This is one of my favorite events all year. I love spending my late late Friday and Saturday night and early early Saturday and Sunday morning watching this thing. Watching Phil, Tiger, and Ernie duke it out at 1AM LIVE last year was one of the most memorable sports moments I've ever had.

Why are the commentators who do European Golf so incredibly boring. They definitely don’t do "play-by-play" commentating. I was watching Ernie Els put for birdie, he made the put and the commentators were still talking about his past with moments of up to 20 seconds of dead silence throughout. Not one word about the birdie that we were all witnessing. Next time you watch listen to them. It’s very annoying. I think they're some of the best on. No one on there really irritates me like Miller, Finch, or Strange except for one guy, but he's not with them this week.(And wouldn't you know he's American?) But anyways, I think they're funny, dramatic and all in all entertaining. They take some getting used to, but I've obviously gotten used to them. |
