Yes, St. Andrews is the homeof golf, but Ireland is home to 40% (YES 40%) of true links golf courses in the world. So if you want the pick of the litter you may consider Irland and not Scotland!

I believe using the terms 'links course' is incorrect.

It's either a golf links or a golf course.
