I really need to say this,
I have been on this site for quite sometime and in the last year I have watched forums go from being productive discussions to well in some cases ghetto trash talk! This site is about an honorable game played amongst gentlemen(women) and at this point it has become a complete joke! At times down right nasty as well. People will say yeah we are kidding or whatever excuse they want to say. I see it and it is kidding! I posted a forum about Sergio's behavior in the bunker, the discussion revolved around him being a bitch among other names and a sensitvity training about developmental disabilities.
Someone made reference to my activity decreasing and being inconsistent. Unfortunately I have watched the site slowly lose it's meaning, a site for people to share golf thoughts etc.
Don't get me wrong I have meet some very nice people along the way and to be frank I have watched there activity decrease as well. I am thinking it may have to do with what I am writing. I would love to see this change and get back to where we once were.

It is nearly impossible to avoid forms getting off topic. While I wish this could be avoided I just don't see it happening. Especially since the forums get off topic when someone wasn't even trying to get off topic most of the time. I too have met some great people on here and have had a lot of fun the last year or so on Stracka and want it to continue that way.

It is not about things getting off topic as much as it is about things getting down right nasty. Some people have nothing constructive to add to the conversation so they make fun of it or start throwing all sorts of sexual innuendos into it. Most of the time you can just ignore the posts but sometimes they are in the middle of a good topic that interests people. People will ask a simple question and get jumped all over because it may have been asked before or the answer is apparent to them but not the person asking. It does get old.

I am a regular visitor(and participater) to Stracka. I too see a lot of trash talking and name calling amongst several members. I myself have made joking comments and sexual innuendos to certain pics and forum topics, but I have never been downright nasty to another member no matter how silly or ridiculous i feel their question or topic was. I would like to see every member show a little class and just ignore any topics or posts if you dont feel it is a "worthy" one. Most of the issues at hand involve the younger members, so i guess that it all is to be expected.

Funny how when you, a long time member here bring this issue up, there's nobody from the category of people you speak of that have anything to say. But when a new guy brought up this matter a few weeks ago, he was trashed talked and bashed to no end. He's now since left Stracka becuase of all the useless garbage talk that was directed at him.

Since he left Stracka, his posts aren't in the forums anymore but if you go to this link and read what cogolfer1 quoted you can see what the new guy had wrote.

Then they started accusing ME of being the new guy because he took the same stand I did. Hope you have better luck with speaking your mind than I did.

Not quite sure why there haven't been more responses, just looking to get back to the old way Stracka members behaved!

This is why I avoid social networking sites. I think we've got too many 'facebookers' on here now. I've always treated this as a golf site. Discussing golf, the golf swing, pro tours, and yes; I've thrown some eye candy out there. It's not my intent to paint all 'facebookers' with such a broad brush, but I find myself reading the same type of forum discussions on bodybuilding sites, golf sites, etc. I guess no corner is free of this crap. However, you know the numbers are getting out of hand when there's a blog on a golf site that complains about golf course pictures.

Yeah, some of the stuff written on the forums is over the top and inappropriate. But, I like the site, I think it's fun, I look forward to logging on and when I read some of the banter, I move on to another forum topic or section. I doesn't bother me and don't give it much of a second thought.
