Today in our City championship, A man by the name of Mark Raymont passed away on the golf course. He was standing talking to the guys in his group on the 12th tee and just grabbed his chest and collapsed. One of the gentlemen in the group is a retired EMT and tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate him. I am in total disbelief. There I am enjoying a wonderful of drinking and golfing, and 3 groups behind me a man is dying. It's hard to comprehend.

Death really is the only certain thing in life. It sure can come at the oddest moments, but those moments make a person take stock of their lives and what will come after death.

That's why I always attempt to be upbeat and thankful for what I've got. You never know when it's going to be taken away and you've gotta enjoy what you have in life.

Rest In Peace Mr. Raymont! My condolences to his family. But isn't this, after all, the secret dream of every true golfer? Given the choice I'd take the 12th tee box over some sterile hospital bed any day of the week!

Even I do agree with You, it's still tough, I had a friend of mine dying in a tennis court just next to me, The guy was in great shape for a 62 years old person, and I can tell you is one of the worst feelings in my life.

RIP Mr. Raymond

Thirded. Except for maybe the Los Angeles Municipal Golf Course or the New York City Municipal Golf Course where a death there is probably a result of being shot to death, I'll almost always take a golf course as my place to die.

Cobbs Creek is a great Philly course, but not without some less traditional hazards shall we say...

I was thinking the same thing Lee! You need to carry 15 clubs on that course. The 15th club being a billy club.
