Course is holding up through day 1 but I think by the end there will be some holes that are nearly unplayable. There are already a ton of good shots that get penalized.
With a lot of work FOX could work its way up to awful. Buck and Norman are terrible together. Buck is just terrible. Camera angles terrible. Only show top 5 leader board (no scroll). They only briefly show the player info when they hit a shot but don't include distance or club selection. Is it too late to get Johnny Miller? |

Say what you will but Brandel Chamblee made an excellent point about Chambers Bay tonight. When the US Amateur was played here, the championship match came down to the #1 and #2 seeds. This week, the tournament was won by the #2 ranked player in the world, the world #1 was -7 at one point today and had a legitimate chance to win at one stage, and the runners up were a guy who has one of the best swings in the history of the game, and another is one of the most talented to tee up a golf ball.
This course, regardless of its greens and complexities, brings out and identifies the best players in the world. The US Open is going to return to Chambers Bay one day. |

Yeah were all so used to CBS and NBC and even the golf channel. Fox just doesn't have the people to be good at golf. And we all love Joe Buck. But a golf guy he is not. Well not yet anyway. I was up there Tuesday to watch some practice. I like a good tough course for these guys. There pro's. Make better shots if you want to win. Be more accurate.
