I'm sure if you have played a round of golf, you have heard this before, or you have found yourself on the other end of this quesion asking.
A. Have you ever lost something on the course, if so, what and what did it mean to you? B. Have you ever returned something or did you put a cover over it and keep it? I have lost my company's blackberry while playing one evening, and I went crazy. I got up the next morning at the crack of dawn thinking I would have to start at hole 1 and start looking. It doesn't help if your golf game is bad and you have to ride around the entire hole looking like a zig zag puzzle. I found it on the 2nd hole, well the group found it and returned it. I was like, how in the world are you'll out here playing golf and the sun hasn't even come up. Anyway, they found it, and returned it. It never functioned the same because it had gotten wet, and I found it. Recently I was playing and I may have been 16th hole and a guy came up and said excuse me have you seen a pair of red shades on the fairway, and I was like, sir I haven't even seen the fairway, lololl and he stopped and started laughing. On the same course on the 17th I did call the 3-some infront of me because someone left a club on the green. |

I left my Nike 52 SV sand wedge on the course and didnt realize it until I counted my clubs at the car. A gentlemen two groups behind was returning it to the clubhouse as I was walking in to request a cart to look for it. I bought him a beer for his thoughtfulness. See now that's the stuff, somebody does a good deed you're way, make sure they feel the love! Good going!! |

I believe in Karma, most likely because I'm afraid not to. I put anything in my cart and if I haven't found the owner by the time I'm done I take it to the pro shop.
I once borrowed my brother in laws putter and left it somewhere on the golf course. It was never returned. It wasn't anything really special but all of you know how putter are. When you find one you like there is no such thing as a replacement. I found a diamond engagement ring in the grass on the soccer complex that I practice on. I took it to the Greenville Recreation and Parks Dept and they looked at me like I had three heads. I was thinking how great I would feel if I lost my wedding ring and got it back because someone turned it in instead of keeping it or pawning it off. |

FOUND: Lot's of stuff. Always return it, though usually try to pass it to the groups in front of us and ask them to pass it along until it finds it's owner. Can't tell you the number of times, someone several groups ahead have come back to thank me for doing so.
LOST: My favorite sunglasses, actually inadvertently left them on a railing 15 feet from the entrance to the pro shop. Never saw them again. STOLEN: Had all my clubs stolen from the locked trunk of my car a few years ago, car parked on a major city street on a sunny Saturday afternoon. They broke the lock on my trunk with a screwdriver in broad daylight and must have walked away with my bag of clubs over their shoulder in front of many people (it is one of the busiest downtown spots. |

A couple of weeks ago my group 'found' SIX irons laying off the right side of the green. We laughed about that for most the round. Found the owner 3 holes later when we caught the group in front of us. The guy hadn't even noticed!
How can you not notice you're missing SIX clubs for 3 holes?! |

"Very recently, I found...a Android phone! I kept the phone and would return it to the pro shop...However, it kept ringing, I finally turned off the ringer... Did it occur to you that it might be the owner calling? I couldn't tell from what you wrote. |

A lot of these stories remind me of a maxim I try to live by.
Treat others BETTER than they deserve. |
