Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that I had my first hole in one yesterday on the 174 yards par 3 hole number 15 at Sunnyvale muni. It was a poor day in general, following the very wet weather we have been having, but after more than a week of being cooped up, I had to get out... and this happened! :)

Thanks all! I have to say it feels more of an accomplishment to bowl 300 than to get a hole in one, just because it's all done in one shot: the ball goes in (once) or it doesn't (thousands of times). I had jello legs for my 12th strike and I am not sure how all the pins went down. No matter, it's way cool to achieve either one!
I've read that for an amateur the odds are 1:12500 for the hole-in-one and 1:11000 for a 300 game, but that the latter improves greatly with skill so that the pro bowlers have 1:500 chance, whereas the pro golfers only have 1:2500 chance. Assuming I was/am in the middle on both of these skill scales and have roughly a 1:8000 chance on both of them, didn't that make the 300 + hole-in-one a 1 chance in 64 millions or maybe a little better at 1:50 millions? :) |

I had 2 holes in one in the first 8 years of playing the game (1st one was In the first 3 months playing the game). Only 1 HIO while I was a single digit. As my Index got better, I've had a lot of close calls but haven't been lucky enough. Next one must be around the corner, I guess?! |

Good for you, Philippe ! Enjoy. I'm working on 40 years now playing this silly game . . . . still waiting for my first hole-in-one . . . .

Thanks guys! Today, I got a reply from Callaway (I used one of their clubs and one of their balls and left a message on their web site): they are sending me something in the mail. Cool!
