I am beginning to notice a trend with my game. My work is very physical. When I try to p!ay after working 4 or more consecutive days without a day of rest I feel OK, but everything about my swing feels off. I have poor ball striking and struggle with directional control as well.

I am not working today, car shopping with my mother. Hopefully i will finish in time to visit the range later. Tomorrow afternoon I plan on playing with some other father's. Let's see if that rest helps.

Are these the signs of getting old or symptoms of being a giant wuss?

Let me know when you hit 55 and then I can attest if you are getting old.

After a hard day of work, it's best to find a comfy sofa, not a golf course. At least, that's what I've been told.

It's not that my job is all that physical, but the 4 am starts do nothing for my fine motor control in the afternoon. Doesn't stop me from playing however it does not help my scoring.

It may be fatigue but I'd probably attribute your struggles to playing those "Rock" Flites. They damage the grooves of your irons and cave in the face of your driver. Not to mention the reverb that shoots up your arms when you hit those dimpled rocks.

I'm still playing those pristine quality X2hots or new Chrome softs.

Isn't this YOUR lotion enhanced hand holding this Top Flite? http://www.ushandicap.com/golf..

When you post pictures one assumes you have possession of said "Rock Flites"

I think fatigue definitely plays a role in scoring. The summer heat does it to me down here in south Florida. And by the mid way on the back 9 I get to the point where I don't give a $hit any more. I count the holes till I'm finished. That attitude translates into poor ball striking. I prefer to play earlier in the day in cooler temperatures.

This is very reassuring. If it effects you at least I know I'm not a giant wuss.

Father Time currently boasts a professional record of 12,989,234,914 and 0. He is, as of yet, undefeated and has you (and most of us) on the ropes. Just try and keep your feet as long as you can and make sure you go down swinging.

you're riding in a cart, I assume. Do you play golf tense?? If you are relaxed, you should play better. However, what about Mental fatigue??

Great question.
I ride and walk. It depends on the temp and how my knee feels.

Being an owner/operator the work is demanding on both levels. I probably carry tension I am unaware of. At times I do find it hard to completely focus and am easily distracted. Not cell phone in my backswing distracted, just get a song or something stuck in my head. Not easy to pull the trigger on a swing when there are voices in your head, especially singing voices.

That's one thing I will put in my head when things are not just right, a song. I find that with the right one it tends to slow me down and redefine my tempo.

I know some people get weird about this but have you tried a little meditation or breathing exercises? It takes a little practice but you can benefit on many levels from a few deep breaths and a little time to just decompress. After a while you can do it pretty much on command.

I find a good Taylor Swift song can really set the tone for a great round.

"WE, are never, never, never, never... getting back together."
