Phil shot 78 the same day. Golf just goes to show its a game of confidence. Every once in a while you have a day like that... Even the Pros, and even Tiger.

I wish I had a dollar for every time Tiger was washed up in the past 5 years.

You would have about $15. Enough for a 12 pack at the turn.

I don't know if he is washed up or not but I do see someone with butterflies the size of dragons in his stomach. He kind of reminds of when John Kruk stood in the batters box at the All Star game against Randy Johnson. He was backing away before the fastball was anywhere near the plate. You can't perform at any level if you are afraid of what is coming down the pike.

Yeah he looks like he has no idea where his next shot is going

I really enjoyed the conversation between Nicklaus and Faldo on the broadcast. If you were to ask Tiger to hit a draw, he could hit a perfect draw right now on the spot. If you asked him to hit a fade he could hit a perfect fade right now.

The problem is that he is thinking about his swing rather than what he wants to do to the ball. Tiger knows how to play golf and these swing gurus have F'ed him up.

Hang it up? No. That being said I wouldn't be in a tournament until I had command of my game.

Faldo and Nicklaus also said that his journey to find the perfect never fail swing has cost him a ton of majors. He needs his swing not someone else's swing.

That being said, time does not stop for anyone and his career is coming to an end.

However...quit...hell Watson almost won the Open at nearly 60 years old.

I don't think he should hang it up because he is good enough to win. The problem is I don't think he will. He's shattered mentally for several reasons, his body seems to give out on him at least once a year now, and he's playing golf swing, not golf.

I'm not a big fan of Tiger but I am a big fan of the sport. I want him to continue playing and I hope he finds the magic again. Seeing his struggles and hopefully a rebound would be good for all of us mere mortals. Could be great inspiration for us when we find ourselves in a rut.

This is sad to see one of the greatest golfers ever to fall like this. I agree with Jack when he said it is in his head. He has tinkered with his swing so much he can't find it anymore.

DO NOT TRY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT WAS NEVER BROKE!!!

How many times has he changed his swing in his career? How many times did Jack change his swing?

It would not surprise me at all if he called it "quits".

I kind of get his first change, if in fact it was causing back and knee issues. The whole snap the knee straight to increase torque played a huge role in his knee issues.

That being said he has reinvented the wheel too many times. He should have kept the swing, ditched Harmon for personal reasons and decreased his knee action like Sam Snead.

I think Harmon put Tiger in a position where he had no choice but to fire him. It's really too bad, because had they stayed together who knows how many majors Tiger would have won. That being said, I think Tiger had zero choice in the matter. Butch made it impossible to stay and impossible to return.

Tiger's story unfortunately seems to be in the form of a Greek Tragedy. He was the greatest who ever played the game. In his prime I truly believe NOBODY could have matched him. His records, be they scoring records, percentage of majors won in his prime and the GRAND SLAM assure Tiger's place in history...but wow what could have been.

For all the crap Brandel Chamblee (undeservedly) receives, he hit the nail on the head last night on Golf Central.

"What's different about this – I don't know that it's sad – it’s mysterious, because time hasn’t robbed Tiger Woods of his game. He’s done this to himself. He’s traded his genius for the ideas of others. I don’t think anybody can think of a situation analogous to this – somebody at the top of their sport … that completely abandoned the method that got them to the top of their sport. Tiger did that not once but twice, not twice but three times, and he’s back at it now. And you always felt along the way, at least I felt, that sooner or later it would catch up with him, and it has clearly caught up with him."

That is the best and most accurate description of what you're going to ever see or hear about this whole situation.

Oh sure, it's all Butch's fault.

I Agree with this 100%, He did it to him self, and I think his pride or ego won't let him ask for help.... IMO

right, because I'm sure that none of those bad things were going on while he was winning 14 majors
