Just got to hit my "new" 913D3 last night. Don't know why I waited so long to pull the trigger on one other than price. I had gotten fit for one last year but it was still the current model so I figured I'd wait. Glad I did though. Got mine from ebay with the Tour Design AD Di shaft to my door for $165. I got such a good deal, I was thinking about parting it out since those shafts go for $200+ and heads are still $125+. That was until I hit it.

Don't know why anyone needs the newest thing the day it comes out.

Because when you miss a 915, you don't lose 1/2 the distance that you do with a 910/913. And anything you catch a little thin, it goes 30 yards longer than a 913. It truly is an improvement over the last two models. I bought the latest and greatest right away this time.

The 913 was just a re-wrapped 910. Both GREAT drivers. And when you hit them flush, they all go the same distance. That's why I never bought the 913, it wasn't even a bit different than my 910. Whenever I put the 915 and the 910 on the launch monitor, I always hit the longest ball of the session with the 910, but averaged a good 10 yards longer with the 915 thanks to the mis-hits.

Well you missed the point... 10 yards on miss hits worth that much to you? You must miss a lot.

Sry but I have to go with Dandy on this one. I have always said that with a driver it doesn't matter how good your good shots are. It comes down to how good your bad shots are.

Again, missing the point.

Why buy the newest driver model for $450 so misses are 10 yards longer? Am I to buy all my equipment based on how poorly I may hit the ball? Since my misses are typically right or left, that just means spending $450 to walk 10 more yards into the rough or the next fairway. I'll spend 60% less take the 8 good shots and worry about the other 2 when they happen. While playing 6 more rounds with the difference.

Not trying to pick a fight with you Shawn, but I'm saying 30 yards in some cases, not 10. It doesn't take much of a miss when you hit it low on the club face to skyrocket the spin kill yardage. That $450 has all but eliminated that miss. For the most part, a 'low miss' on the driver is still gonna find the fairway, now, I'm just closer to where I want to be.

To your other point, it's been proven so many times that closer to the green in the rough still gives you a closer proximity to the hole than further back in the fairway. If you're hitting close to two clubs less into the green, that's absolutely worth it. 10 yards? Maybe not, but the gains I've seen make me happy with my $450 spend. AG hit it so hard on the head man. Solid hits are solid hits, regardless of what you're playing but it's the quality of your misses that determines score. Yes I miss it a lot. So do you, So does Rory and Jordan and Bubba and all those guys. Greg Norman won the Open Championship and said that in his near perfect round, he hit exactly 6 shots dead solid perfect. That's a pretty low percentage dude.

When I bought my 915 I tested several drivers, I had the TM Rocketballz Tour Driver with a shaft that I got fitted for which I don't remember now, and i could hit it just fine and I did try the 913 and the 915, and I have to say I hit the ball longer basically with every Drive over the 915 including my old one but when I missed and I am a handicap 15 player so I miss quite a bit, and I don't lose as much distance and it doesn't go as far right or left with my 915 as with the others.

I thought it was worth it and I pay for it, Am I playing better now? I don't think so, but I'm more confident with my Driver now, and I think that's a good start.

Said that this is the first time that I pay full price for a Driver.
