I am traveling to Bonita Springs, FL on business in a couple weeks and getting to play a couple rounds at Raptor Bay. I am looking at squeezing in another round near RSW airport before I fly out. Anyone have a suggestion on a course close by the airport? I would also consider a course on the way from Bonita Springs to RSW. Thanks.

Legends golf club and Old Hickory are right next to the airport. Probably a 5 minute cab ride across I-75. By good buddy lives in Ft. Myers and plays both of those. They are semi-private, but should be open to public play now. It's in season for us in FL, so expect to pay higher freight than normal.

Haven't played in that area for a few years but you might look at Eastwood, it's a city course and about 15 minutes from the airport. Then there is the Fort Myers Country Club, it is a Ross design and they play a lot of tournaments there so it is kept in good condition. If you want to pay a little more there is Colonial CC, it is a little further away from the Airport (1/2hour?) but is a really nice place. I think the fees there are under 100.00.

Hi Shawn--It all depends on how much money your wanting to spend. The rates have climbed alot in the past month in anticipation of the Snow-Birds arrival. GolfNow will have alot of good courses listed in Ft Myers or Naples area. Theres a great course about 12 miles NorthEast of the airport. Its a Davis Love III course called River Hall. They been promoting a coupon in the local paper 2 for $79 which is good this time of the year and its a good course. If money isn't an issue, go on GolfNow/Naples and book a reservation at Old Corkscrew, its a Jack Nicklaus course about 10-15 minutes from the airport that destroys people. I'm a 2-handicap and I've yet to break 80 there. Its around $125 in the morning or $85 in the afternoon. Have a good time, weather is beautiful right now.

Totally agree with this one if you have the time to make the trip. Nicklaus calls it one of his favorite designs because the green complexes are diabolical. GolfNow has a "Hot Deal" for Old Corkscrew usually at 7:30 in the morning. If you can do it... take it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I will get to play Fiddlesticks. A PGA friend of mine in Orlando is working it out for me. Two rounds at Raptor Bay and one at Fiddlesticks on a 3 day business trip.
