What is the one thing you wished your playing partner wouldn't say about you are your game?

"Sorry." I hate it when someone feels obligated for some reason to apologize to me when I hit a bad shot. I remember the first time I heard that, I was playing with someone and I flubbed a chip and I was frustrated for screwing up an easy shot. One of my partners on the other side of the green said, "Sorry" and I wanted to chuck my lob wedge at him for saying that. Maybe I'm all alone on this, but I think making an apology on someone's bad shot is just stupid. If you're not actually interfering with the shot, why would you feel the need to apologize over someone's bad shot?

Mine is "If I could hit the ball like you, I'd be shooting par all the time"..... Ok, you can't. So get your game to where my game is.

There is a guy in my normal group the everytime a bad shot is hit, like into a creek, woods, pond whatever he acts like an announcer and says something like "oooooo Johnny that could be trouble". That shit gets my blood boiling.

Most of the time I wish the people I'm playing with would not say anything, The one thing I hate to hear is "thats to bad" could be a missed putt, ball in a bad spot, hit the ball into a bunker, ect... Please don't even talk.

"Is that putt for birdie?" or "Is that three pars in a row?" Why not just shoot me in the foot?

Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of any comment from the peanut gallery. No.1 is when somebody says "oh, that'll be alright" as your tee shot heads out of bounds or somewhere close. Anybody who says that is so obviously wrapped up in themselves that they should shut up.

In fact, how about shutting up in general? Why is it we have to comment on every shot? Just shut up, golf your ball, then go home ... if you feel like you have to talk, don't.

"nice shot", even when it wasn't.

This one used to bother me a lot. It still does to some degree. But what I've learned is that most people declare a shot "nice" based on their own game and capabilities, not yours. Knowing that has helped me let those comments slide off my back.

Also 99% of the time they are trying to be encouraging--even if they miss the mark, I give credit for the effort.
