I cracked the face of my Adams Bull 5000 9.5 degree stiff shafted driver today. Looks like I will be going shopping. I play on hitting several to know which ones work best for me but I would love to hear your thoughts on the 2012 and 2011 drivers.....

Cracked the face on my Cobra last year. I bought a Titleist 909 D2 as a replacement. it has been a great club. The 910 D series is pretty nice looking too.

Just bought the Taylor RBZ 9.5 . Taking a little getting used to but it is very long. Once I get the adjustable shaft dialed in it should be fine. Changing to an x-stiff as well.

Go to Lou's Golf, TNVol. If you haven't been there, you don't know what you're missing! Kevin will usually let you try a driver for a few hours out on the range/course if you leave collateral.

I really like my Taylormade R11. Some golf courses have demos that you can try out.

I recommend finding someone who can fit you with the correct driver. I went to Golfsmith about 3 or 4 years ago and spent 2 hours with an very knowledgeable staffer (no longer there) who evaluated my swing mechanics, swing speed, preferences (teeing it low, hitting driver off the deck, etc.), launch angle, etc. and matched me to a driver head (size, loft, weighting), shaft (how stiff, flex point), and grip. We decided on a Cleveland Hibore XL - at the time, a highly discounted off the shelf model. I still use it today. In spite of the new technology out there, I haven't found anything that "fits" me better. More importantly, I haven't needed to.

Do your self a favor and buy the R11s. It comes in 9* 10.5* and 12* i believe and can be screwed 1.5* up or down. I understand the club is slightly pricy but you cannot go wrong with this club. You can make the club do what you want it to do. The stock shaft is a little light and slightly whippy for a high speed swing but a shaft switch can take care of that if it is not working for you. If you dont mind looking down at white, then an R11s should be in your bag for sure.

Thanks for all the posts. I went to 2 PGA Superstores today and was fitted by two different people all with pretty much the same results. The ones it came down to based on the numbers were the Ping G20, Ping G15, Taylormade RBZ and the Taylormade Burner Superfast 2.0.

With my old driver, my swing speed was 96MPH with a 14.1 degree launch angle. Both the Pings and the TM's increased my swing to 101 MPH. Launch angles stayed right at 14.1. The deciding factor got down to the grouping of the hits, the distances and the spin rates.with a difference of less than 2% in spin (200 rpm) and a difference of 1 yd or less than 1%. I went for the money saver. At $144 plus tax for a brand new 9.5 degree Stiff Shaft club is the Taylormade Burner Superfast 2.0

It is Cass approved....

If I was faced with the choice of the best driver head, the best shaft, or the best club fitter, I'd take the latter every time. The best driver head won't matter a lot if it isn't matched with a shaft and other adjustments that match your swing. Same is true with the shaft.

I also have a Titleist 909 D2 and I love it, especially the sound it makes when you hit it on the sweet spot. I couldn't hit it straight when I first got it, in fact, I put it back on Ebay after 2 weeks, because, after all, it was the club's fault I couldn't hit it straight. But I gave it one last chance before the auction ended, made a few tweaks in my swing, and found it to be a great club. So I drove home as fast as I could and cancelled the auction before anyone could put a bid in.

That looks like a Patme Cat, I use to have one of them, my current cat is the definition of scaredy cat, he has a very effective black and gold camo.

We call him Cass which is short for Casper & Casanova. He is mostly white and we got him the day before Halloween. The Casanova part is self explanatory.... he is always wanting to be loved on....

I did not go with this one because it is "Too Workable" for my game right now. I need more forgiving. On the plus side, with the cash I saved I will be able to get a much better club in a couple of years when I am hitting well enough to go for a more workable club.
