I just read that no one has won the U.S. Open after winning the week prior to it. Those playing this week are obviously gearing up for next week but would also obviously take a win if they can get it and chance the "fate" of falling at the Open like all those before them. So, if you could somehow choose would you...
a) take a "guaranteed" win the week before the US Open knowing you couldn't win the US Open the week after or b) forego the "guaranteed" win the week before so you would have a "chance" to win the US Open? I'd take the win the week before....one day someone has to break this streak. |

All you have to ask is this. Would I rather win the St. Jude Classic or U.S Open? Hmmmm. That's a hard one.

Great topic for discussion 72--You have to take the guarantee being we never know what tomorrow brings and there is no guarantee in life. Besides most wins you get a 2-year exemption. But then again ask Justin Rose, we won last week but isn't qualified for the Open which makes absolutely no sense just like Rickie Fowler isn't in either. Something is wrong with that equation~~But people like Rocco Mediate said the US Open is the ultimate. It means the most to so many players!!

All you have to ask is this. Would I rather win the St. Jude Classic or U.S Open? Hmmmm. That's a hard one. No - you missed the point. If someone said you could choose between a guaranteed win at the non-majpr before the US Open OR choose for a CHANCE to win the US OPEN which one would you choose. Why ask? The person who wins this weekend will VERY LIKELY not win at the US OPEN because no one ever has yet. |

The person who wins this weekend will VERY LIKELY not win at the US OPEN because no one ever has yet. What I meant was this. The oppurtunity of having a chance to win a major is greater than winning one of the lowest class tournaments on Tour. |
