Yes I tried it for thier free trial period. It worked well as long as I was in a populated area for AT&T. Tampa, and Charleston it worked real well. Got back home out in the boonies and didn't work worth a crap but that problem lied with AT&T not golflogix. I now have Verizon and reception is awesome everywhere.I would imagine that the golflogix would be also if I wanted to pay for it.

I use a freebee on my blackberry. No pretty graphics but it is accurate and leaves me a little battery life at the end of a round. I only use it occasionally.

I tried it. Has lots of nice features, but in the end I'm using Free Caddie for two reasons:

1. It's a lot easier on my 54 year old eyes. Golflogix tries to stuff so much in there that you really need 20/20 vision and a spot in the shade to be able to see it. Free Caddie is easy to see.

2. Free Caddie is a LOT easier on the battery life. Golflogix is pretty notorious for its battery usage.

It's good and it's bad. The software is easy to use and works well. The bad is that if you are using it on a droid phone, it crashes anytime you switch programs. So if someone calls you, it will freeze. If you check an email, it freezes, if you get a text it freezes. That program wants all your attention or you will have to restart your phone. I have sent plenty emails to tech support with no response so I don't use it anymore. I use Golfshots now and love it.

I used it for the iphone and the problem is ATT service. Driver - ok let me see how far I hit that ball........ do da do da (I'm driving) 100 yards, do da do da still driving, almost to the ball, look down. You have got to be kidding me......select driver.. what the heck. Ok, the first couple of times I was playing by myself, I did turn around because I thought it was just a glitch. Then I noticed the out of service or out of range message. I was very disappointed, and it takes a lot of battery, which it tells you that before hand. Using it on the first three holes was not a good experience. I initially thought, hmmm this is going to be great. If it works properly, it is great for what it is. If you get that no service junk that pops up, it will take you off your game, and make you start to think about that even more. I played horrible. I just got me a vtour2 which I have yet to use. For some reason, its hot outside :P

I used it for most of this season on my Droid. It's a very decent program, only had it freeze once. But I had 2 big problems with it....

1. When I got to a par 5 where I had to lay up, the GPS screen would lose the picture...never happened on par 3s or 4s...just when I really needed it.

2. Battery consumption. Even when I kill all other programs. It forced me to buy an extra battery to get thru a round, which is a pain to switch batteries, wait for the phone to boot up, start the program, wait for the GPS to find you...it's a real pace killer.

Been using Golfshot GPS since the beginning of the month...GPS screen works perfectly, very easy software to use, and I get thru the entire course in less than half a battery (even with slow play). You can track all the same stats as Golflogix, it emails your scorecard to you (and your partners if you were tracking their scores too), the website is less flashy but just as effective. Only 2 drawbacks I've found so far vs GolfLogix.

1. It does not automatically advance to the next hole depending on your position. No biggie...if I forget which hole I'm on, I've obviously had too much beer.
2. While you can track how long you hit your drives (or any shot), it does not save them to the website and phone like GolfLogix does so you have a better idea of how far you're really hitting your irons thru averages...this one kind of irks me, but they are (suppossedly) working on integrating it into the software and should be made available soon.

Hope this helps!

quit using it. after the last update, it doesn't switch holes properly. I'd have to go back a hole, then forward again to get the right yardage

Thanks all, I use Skydroid ,but saw all the other options the Golflogix had and was curious.
Think the main option I like is the scorecard. The Skydroid doesn't have that.
I'll test out the logix on Tuesday to see how my motorola cliq xt handles the battery drain.
Skydroid drains it roughly halfway as long as I don't text/email or answer the phone =)
Will let you know my thoughts and also check out the Golfshot later this week. Is it free also?

2 year user here (paid member). First with Blackberry, now with i-Phone. Always with Verizon. Good program in my opinion and its gotten better with each new upgrade. My only complaint with Blackberry was battery consumption. I had to be very diligent in order to complete a round. My problem with it on the i-Phone is accuracy. And I believe that's the i-Phone's GPS, not with Golflogix. It's frequently off by up to 7 yards, usually short (i.e. marker says 150, phone says 143), although 100% accurate other times. That difference is a big deal, especially inside 150. Therefore, I'd be curious to hear about other i-phone owner's accuracy with other programs. Until then, I'll just double check my yardages when applicable.

I know on my android, the accuracy for skydroid and freecaddie are both +-2-4 yds on avg

I am using Gofllogix on an I phone 4. I can easily use for two rounds in a day while checking e-mail and text messages throughout. The only downside I would list is that my buddy and I both use it and the yardages sometimes aren't the same. We can have both phones sitting in the cart and the yardages will read a couple yards different. He is a much better player so the doubt can effect him sometimes but I am not good enough yet that it matters.

Plus's
Very stable running on my phone
Doesn't actually kill the battery
The web interface is really easy to use and the stats are quite good.

Con's
Yardage may be plus or minus a couple depending on the phone

Used Free Caddie for the first time today. Simple, easy to use, not too much info.

Does the GolfLogix upload your golf stats to this site?

I am looking for the GPS / course layout, stat keeper, and uploader for my Android.

Anybody?

Thanks!
