I was talking about a ProVx on a another post, that I played all 18 holes with it and would retee it today. But the question is, how long do you keep a ball in play?

I play a ball until it gets lost or it gets more than 3 scuff marks. Last summer I played a ProV1x for 5 rounds over a two week period.

14 holes less on the last ball I played. I played 14 holes before I was able to identify that I'd been playing with a ball that had a broken core. Drives were going anywhere from 20 to 70 yards shorter than normal and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It took that long for the cover to split.
Generally I'll get 3 rounds out of a ball before I have to retire it. Balls are so much better than when I started this game 40 years ago. I'll throw the ball out if it gets scuffed. Balls don't get smiles anymore. Since I rarely hit anything but fairways and rough I get a lot of mileage out of my golf balls. |

I'll play a ball all the way until I lose it or there's a visible crack in the ball.

Once mine gets scuffed up pretty bad I pass it on to my wife, go green recycle! LOL

If I did not have to pay for them I would change it every 2 or 3 holes. I play it until it's gone or there is a big scuff mark. If you find a ProVx when your playing do you use it? How many holes had it been played?

I don't count how many holes or how many rounds. If the ball looks clean I will play it as long as it remains scratch free. Once I get a blemish I generally retire it to a practice ball for me.

I play mine till I lose it and some time that not very long but thats ok because mine are free.

I use a new ball every time I play ... but I play the $1 Pinnacle Gold so it's not an expensive ball. If I lose it during a round, I pull an old ball to continue the round.

I'm at the point I play it until I lose it. I have found myself losing less balls now. I think the last time I played, I lost 2. If I hit a great shot or finish the round well with a ball, I pull it out the next time to try to keep the "MAGIC ALIVE" lol.

I'm at the point I play it until I lose it. I have found myself losing less balls now. I think the last time I played, I lost 2. If I hit a great shot or finish the round well with a ball, I pull it out the next time to try to keep the "MAGIC ALIVE" lol. Keep the magic alive...LOL |
