Yesterday after a lack luster tee i said "That's what happens when you try and kill it." To which my father in law said "There is not one case of a golf ball being killed so stop trying." It was one of the better pieces of advice i've ever received.

sounds like good advice to me. :D
My best results are when I relax and swing the club with good tempo. |

My favorite is the answer that the course pro gave my friend when he asked what was wrong with his swing. He replied,"You are standing too close to the ball after you hit it." I about fell out of the cart when he said it.

Regarding not-killing-the-ball, I always like what Sam Snead said he was thinking before he hit:
"Just be still, little ball...this won't hurt one bit." |

My favorite golf quote has always been, "If you don't hit the ball hard enough, it'll never go in the hole." The King~

I like all of them mentioned. My favorite quote has a lot to do with golf...sometimes a direct influence. "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." - Benjamin Franklin

I like all of these but find the "don't hurt yourself" before the swing or "Did that hurt, it sure looked like it did" after the swing to be the most accurate of my swing UNTIL lately that is :)
