I've seen several forum posts about Tiger being picked or not being picked by Pavin but who will Monty pick? I believe he has three picks so who do you choose since there are some good names who didn't get the automatic lock...

Here's the top 4 from the world points: Westwood, McIlroy, Kaymer and McDowell

Here's the top 5 from the European points (not already listed above): Poulter, Fisher, F. Molinari, Jimenez and Casey

That leaves the following on the outside....Harrington, McGowan, Donald, E. Molinari and Rose.

I'd go with Donald, Rose and McGowan

If Francesco Molinari is on the team then I would definitely pick his brother Edoardo. They won the World Cup of Golf together and would seem to be a perfect pairing. Then I'd probably go with Luke Donald and either Harrington or Rose. Whoever is playing better at the time of the captain's picks.

I think the European choices are much tougher than the US choices (aside from Tiger). Many of these players have been inconsistent lately. Rose MC the last 2 majors. Donald did below average at the Bridgestone and MC at the PGA. Harrington is alternating good and bad tourneys.

I'll go with Eduordo M., Padraig, and Damien McGrane. (But I'd expect Rose to be picked over McGrane.)

I was going to say I'd personally want to cut Rose. He's terrible now (despite being crowned best in the world on this site about 2 months ago ... morons).

But if you leave off Rose, you've got to answer for it if your guy doesn't go at least 3-1-0 or something. Politically, you've got to take Rose.

Harrington and Molinari have to be seriuosly looked at with Paddy having proved himself in intense competition.
Kahn has had some nice showings of late but unproven
Chris Wood always performs well in The Open Championship and with the cup bing played across the pond he may get a consideration, he will at some point be on a team and this may be a strong enough team to give him the exposure to this type of competition
Donald and Rose may make the team, however they certainly may sputter both a fine players but both do not impress me during crunch time!
