I am looking for alittle info from the people that are in the long drive comps. How far do yall hit your normal drivers?

It all depends on conditions, wind, rain, etc but we sponsor a couple of Long Drivers and I will put it this way...350 can get you into some events, 380 will let you compete some and 400 will give you a chance to win. When I play with these guys on the course, they typically hit drives in the 360- 380 range. People who aren't familiar with Long Drive think those numbers are crazy but you have to consider the clubs being 3*-7.5* lofts and having shafts that are 48"-50" long and swing speeds in the 120-150mph range. Hope that helps and if I can help further, just let me know.

They are not allowed to use a 50 inch shaft any more. All of the clubs have to be USGA conforming and they limit them to 48 inches. They just started that this year.
