To be honest Cog, I thought this would be the best year ever and I could never top it. If things work out just right this year it’s possible I will play the Top 10 golf courses in the USA all in 2019. Starting with Augusta National...I was kind of invited two weeks ago. A guy I know asked me if I wanted to join him and his dad (duh!). He said he would know more in 2 weeks and that literally ran out today...I will email him on Friday if I don’t hear anything. I am scheduled to play Cypress Point December of 2019. We will see.

2018-2019

-> In 2018 I became the Consulting Historian for Oakmont Country Club and have just started the process of writing a book on their first 30 years.
-> I am starting a new podcast in 2019 on golf history- technically we recorded the first one in 2018- Episode 76 on the iseekgolf.com podcast.
-> I founded the Society of Golf Historians and that is also the name of one of my twitter accounts that just tweets about golf history - @ghistorian or if you like golf and architecture I am Charles Blair MacKenzie or @ConnorTLewis1 where I tweet most of my golf trips
-> Finally because I have totally lost my mind I am writing a pilot for golf show which is kind of a blend of Golf History meets Pawn Stars meets Histories mysteries meets the Travel Channel.

So yah...I have totally lost my bleeping mind and this website started most of the insanity:)
Need to hook up with you fellows on my travels.

That's awesome. I've read up on Fisher's a lot this year; lots say it's the most underrated course in the country.

If I get a certain job that I'm hoping to get, I could get you on Valhalla next year. I'll keep you in touch if that happens.

How good is Fishers? It might be the most fun I have had on a golf course in the USA. It’s stunningly beautiful. I am trying to see if I can get back on in 2019.

As you look for jobs as an Asst let me know. I know quite a few from my travels. If you land a “Great Club” it sets you up for life!

The job I'm actually in the hunt for is with Golf House Kentucky, which is home to the Kentucky PGA and Kentucky Golf Association. I've had little to no interest in going down the green-grass route ever since my first internship, so since then all my internships have been in administration roles.

BTW, didn't realize you were on Twitter, and when I saw the spreadsheet of most influential GCA accounts in 2018, I gave you that follow.

I have two twitter accounts- one follows my golf and thoughts on golf and the other one is dedicated to golf history. That one is The Society of Golf Historians- @shistorians and is ranked a bit higher than my regular account on that same list.
That being said I have zero idea how anyone figures out who has the “most influence.” I just talk about architecture from a historical perspective - no influence implied or intended.
