I'm curious....Please say how far you normally drive the ball ( Be honest ) Also list what Driver you have in your bag and what degree loft it is.....I carry the Taylormade R5 - 9.5 degree loft.......I like it because I'm usually pretty accurate with it but I am not getting good distance lately....Curiouis to hear what everyone's using for equipment and how it's working for you.

average is 280 using a Cobra F/speed 9 degree 460cc. Can sometimes reach back and get it past that but then direction and control go out the window.

Adams Speedline 9 degree 250-260 yds smooth and easy. When I try to tear the cover off, bad things happen.

About 275 on level ground, with no wind. Occasionally rip a good one in the 290-300 range, maybe once a round if the conditions are good.
Titleist 983K, 10.5 degrees, Aldila Voodoo S-flex. |

175 with 9.5 degrees of loft. I use a RAM driver. If I can get longer off the tee I will be a much better player.

My average is right around 265-270, but that is taking into account the way I play I do not hit my driver at 100% all of the time, I have gotten rounds in which I have hit my driver right at 280-290 consistently, the time I played with PeteG, I hit them far I think my shortest drive was around 260,, and the longest one was like 320, because the course we played has very wide fairways and very little trouble and the holes are not that long, so I really went for long drives, I hit the 52 degree wedge in all 3 par 4's for the approach, which means that I had all three times no more than 110 to the pin, but to me is better to be in the short grass that long and wrong, I carry a 9.5 degree Taylor Made Tour Burner, with a Grafalloy Tour extra stiff high kick point shaft.

Some good reply's so far....I was thinking about getting a driver with a little more loft but seems most of you are playing between 9 and 10.5 degrees and having success......looks like I'll have to work it out on the range...if that doesn't work maybe I should look at changing the shaft. When I'm hitting it well I only get 215-225 lately...but most drives are closer to 200. I'm usually pretty accurate but need a little more distance.

Ill go anywher from a 60 yard top to 365 yards... Last round with medium fairways no wind at 75degrees. 275 ok contact right fairway rough 200 top fairway 220 duck hook fairway 200 duck hook rough 240 intentional cut(slice) rough 280 decent drive straight left fairway then rough 150 top fairway 250 pull rough 220 slight push heel into rough 280 (now i fixed my problem standing too close to the ball) cut/slice intentional 320 straight drive fairway 340 straight drive fairway 280 straight drive fairway 355 unleashed hell after a 3putt from 15 feet straight and drove through fairway into rough 11.5 degree Maltby driver ($12 at golfsmith) Ball Nike SFT Ball on 18th hole Pinnacle soft. Shot a 95. Putting was awful, approach was awful. Hit 5 trees with the same Nike SFT ball on hole 10 and 11. More trees than Ive hit all year. Never lost my ball from start to finish....it was replaced on 18 due to poor performance on the green. Well ...alrighty then... lol :) |
