It has yet to happen (at least consistently) in our modern era- but can you imagine?

Think about it, golfs majors have really lacked the fireworks that could have happened over the past 20 years.

When in the majors have we had battles like Nicklaus vs Hogan vs Palmer...or Nicklaus vs Watson? Multiple major winners playing at their best for a major?

We were teased Tiger vs Phil but never saw a Sunday run.

Now we have Spieth, Rory, Day, DJ, Fowler and throw in a swan song Phil. How great could majors be if two or three of these guys were in the final pairings on Sunday tied for the lead?

I thought Speith and Kuch was pretty good entertainment.

This. And don't forget a couple of years ago, it was Spieth vs DJ at Chambers Bay... They have both been #1 in OWGR since.

Same goes with Day and Spieth when they were in the final group at Whistling Straits two years ago. I've always lamented not getting a true Tiger-Phil major Sunday showdown. Could you imagine if it had been Tiger in Henrik's place at Troon last year? That would have been porn.

On Saturday morning it looked feasible to get Spieth, Rory, and DJ as the Top 3 going into Sunday before Kuchar slid in there and Jordan pulled away while Rors and DJ were in the house. We'll get one eventually. Just a matter of time.

Golf is in a good place, but having a Spieth/Rory Final Pairing would be icing on the cake. There is 30 players that can win this Sunday. 20 years ago that number was probably closer to 10-12. A lot of people feared that there would be no life after Tiger, but true golf fans should be able to recognize how vibrant the sport really is now with all types of personalities. Its good to be a fan~

I hear what you're saying about dream pairings on Sunday, but we don't need that anymore to have great drama. I think you want Rory to be part of it based on your thoughts but we had some combination of Speith, DJ and Day when they were on top and it gave us good drama the few years. Rory needs to be relevant this week and get back to competing in Majors again. If that happens, I think you can count on Day, DJ, Matsuyama or Speith making it a good show.

I hate to admit I kinda miss seeing Tiger destroy the field. Speith Kuchar was one for the ages at the Open. Would love to see a McIlroy/DJ vs Speith in a final pearing. Get that power Vs shot maker head on head.

I thought today's revolving leaderboard was as exciting as it gets.

Yeah, we wouldn't want you to have to come up with more excuses again.
