I did something for the first time in my golfing career this past weekend . . . . I holed out from 150 yards ! What a great feeling, and an awesome looking 2 for eagle on the score card. It was on Hole #11 at Indian Spring in Marlton, NJ. Good thing I changed clubs because of the wind ....

So, I pose the question to all of you .... how far out have you been and still holed the shot ?

The few hole outs and aces I have made came from around 120 yards. Not all hole outs start off a good shot. Years ago I was playing with a guy that I still play with, anyway he hits this shot thin from about 180 out. This looked bad, low and to the left and here comes the slice back toward the hole. It hits short and rolls onto the green and goes in the hole. That shot cost me. Oh well it was worth seeing.

So 120 is your go to layup yardage, right Randy?

Those were a few years ago. I did like it at that yardage. I don't hit the ball as well now. I do chip much better now. Waiting for another long hole out.

March 15th, 2013. 11th hole @ boise ranch from 124 yds. It was an elevated green so I didn't see it go in. When I hit it, it flew right of the flag so when I walked up there, I was confused that I didn't see my ball on the green. Spent a few minutes walking the perimeter looking for it before it occurred to me the green is shaped like a bowl. It was a great feeling to see it in the bottom of the cup.
Why do I remember it so well? To date, it is the only eagle I've gotten.
