I did something for the first time in my golfing career this past weekend . . . . I holed out from 150 yards ! What a great feeling, and an awesome looking 2 for eagle on the score card. It was on Hole #11 at Indian Spring in Marlton, NJ. Good thing I changed clubs because of the wind ....
So, I pose the question to all of you .... how far out have you been and still holed the shot ? |

Nice! The 11th has had a lot of work done. The green is in pretty good shape. Congratulations.
Me, 90 yards about 20 years ago. But that was for a triple bogie at seaview bay. Recently, about 3 years ago 55 yards at White Oaks for a par on a par 4. |

Can't compare to that. I holed out on a par 3 from about 85 yards. Hole played 190 and I hit an awful tee shot that was way short and right. SW from the rough, 1 bounce and in.

I don't remember the exact distances but I went about 6 years without holing out from the fairway then ended up doing it almost a dozen times over the last two years. You also have to remember that I was playing 100+ rounds per year over the last two years so I had a lot of chances to do it. The most memorable wasn't even very long,60-70yds???, but it set me up to shoot my lowest round ever.

Amazingly the longest hole out I've ever had came from about only 30 yards out and that was in 2009. I can shoot in the mid-70's and threaten even par every now and then, yet I can never hole out from a decent yardage. One day...

In June of 2013, I holed out for eagle from 105 on a Wednesday. Two days later, on Friday, I holed out for an eagle from 135. The next Friday I holed out for a double eagle on a par 5 from 185. Then April of 2014 I made a hole in 1 from 125. Nothing since.

From about 125 playing in a club championship in 2005 for an eagle 3. The drawback was it was in a blowing rain and nobody in the group could see it go in. Searched for a while until someone checked the hole. Longest I saw go in was just under 100 for a par 4 after first tee ball went OB. Most recent was last week from about 50 yards for birdie 3.

The only time I've holed out was from about 60 yards, and it was sweet because I was playing for first time with a total AH Guy, I was playing really bad and He was kind of making fun, We got the 5th Hole Par 5, I hit a very nice driver and tried to go for the green in two, I had to carry water right in front of the green and I couldn't make it, I had to drop before the water, about 60 yards out, I pitched the ball kind of low and as soon as I hit the ball the guy goes like "That's gone" the bounce once on the green, twice and checked nicely and roll softly in the hole. Sweet Birdie!!!!

Had a few nice ones from 150 and out. I had one on my home hole, which is an island green and that was nice for eagle, but my favorite was at Streamsong Red last year when I knocked it in for eagle on the back 9.

I've had 2, one from 150 and another from 180. Didn't see either one of them go in the hole. The one from 150 was right at the hole so I looked right away. The other one took a while to find because it looked way long from the fairway. Been a few yrs with no hole outs.other than a few from right off the green.

Last year at the NGT pre round with Don and Jay at Wyncote. Hole 16. I hit a bullet down the middle with my 3W leaving a 9 iron to the green. I chunked it to 50-60 yards. Next shot was a SW that dropped on the green and rolled 15-20 feet into the cup for birdie.
Earlier this year on a par 3 hole at High Vista. Chunked my tee shot into ground under repair about 70 yards from the center of the green. Took relief and hit a wedge onto the green that rolled and disappeared over the rige in the middle of the green. Got up and thought it had rolled off the back, but it was in the cup for birdie. I'm really looking forward to holing out without hitting a bad shot first. |

That's my buddy James. Originally a limey from Liverpool England. So he does talk with a nice accent like Ernie. |

Congrats Scott, Awesome shot!
I, had a HOLE-IN-ONE, on a Par 3 / 106 yards, my first one, APRIL 26,2015 what a THRILL! In 1995 on a Par 5 my 3rd shot from 155 yards out between trees and a small window to punch out with a 5-iron, the golf ball was running down the fairway onto the green and vanished. Everyone was thinking it went over the green as I, walk onto the green, I, walk up to the hole, and there it was my golf ball for a BIRDIE! Last year at River Terrance, I, hit a bad shot on a Par 3, and was behind a tree and 65 yards out took my LW and hit a High shot that landed a foot in front of the hole and jump in for a BIRDIE! |

I don't remember anything but it going in the hole. |
